of note is that the third Thursday of June is NHC. Will the meeting happen a different date, maybe with a pre-trip planning meeting, or be held in Minneapolis?

That is a topic of discussion in the cabinet right now. In the past we did not reschedule. Meeting week before is a likely scenario.

I thought someone said that this is a "bottle share" night at Another Road. So can we bring commercials??

Yes, commercials are good. The way they typically do bottle share though is you give the bottle to the bartender. They pour it for the crowd. Not sure how that will work with our entire crew there. Will be a learning experience. Should be pretty cool. Hopefully have some good homebrews to share with patrons to maybe turn them on to homebrew.

Lots of folks traveling for spring break so I anticipate a smaller group this month. Have a nice trip Pat.

Greetings from Cedar Falls!

As some of you may remember, City Harvest Hop Co is a small scale hop yard in Cedar Falls, aimed primarily at supplying home brewers in the area with a variety of organically grown, whole-leaf (for now) hops. I sell 15 varieties, one of which (Boulder Wild) is unique. Last weekend, I took root cuttings for the first time since I started the business back in 2014, and boy do I have an abundance! I offered 9 varieties of rhizomes this year, 4 of which are still available (Northern Brewer, Chinook, Cascade, and Brewers Gold). I also still have plenty of ounces of whole-leaf hops available.

I'd love to have the opportunity to visit you guys again. Back when I lived in CR for my internship, I enjoyed your company (and your beer) immensely. I have been brewing my own beer as well, which I will bring with me for you guys to sample. Most of my beers are IPAs, and contain ONLY my own hops. If it's alright with you guys and if it's alright with the management/owners at Another Road, I'd love to bring my beer samples and the products I have for sale (hops and rhizomes). In the future, I think it'd be nice to make routine visits to you guys maybe twice a year; once after harvest time in September, and again after rhizome harvesting in March/April. Let me know your thoughts, and if you've got any questions please feel free to reach out to me at sindtw@gmail.com or 319-240-8208.

Cheers!

p.s. Our hops can regularly be found at Kitchen Wines and Brew Shop in Cedar Falls for $3.95/oz. For purchases directly from me, I'd go $3.5/oz for most varieties & $2.5/oz for Cascade. Rhizomes are $5/ea.

Wes, great to hear from you! Feel free to come on down to our meeting. Another Road is pretty cool so I don't think they would mind a bit. I would love to try some of the IPAs you made with your hops. Hopefully we have a decent turn out this month. It is Spring Break so I know some folks will be out of town. I should actually be able to be to the meeting before 8:00 for first time this year since not dance class for my youngest daughter that week. See you next week!

I sure hope AR has turned the corner. I will try ONE of their beers but I hear they have other breweries on tap now.

They have about 80% "other" beers. Seems they usually have anywhere from 3 to 6 of their own on tap.
