New Pump from Blichmann
New Pump from Blichmann
This looks awesome from Blichmann. New pump with clamp to remove head for easy cleaning, all stainless, flow control valve built in, relief valve to release air, looks awesome. No pricing yet that I saw. Would love with some tri-clamps too. Maybe will be an option?

Nice looking. From them I would expect this to be at least $299, probably more like $399.

Needs to keep under $300 for me to give a serious look. Time will tell. I don't think they sell enough at $400 when there are $100 options out there.

Re: New Pump from Blichmann
That doesn't seem to be an issue for them. Nearly everything they make is significantly more expensive than alternatives. That linear valve alone is $70. I'm not saying I don't like their stuff as a lot of it is pretty innovative.

Re: New Pump from Blichmann
I'd rather stick with March/Chugger for parts and 4 screws to remove the head is nothing. They design some cool stuff for sure, but that bad boy won't be cheap

Well I have to say I'm surprised. They have this on their site now at $199. Not bad for what you get. They also advertise an upgrade kit for $99. Works with March and Chugger.

I agree. I saw a review a couple weeks ago and was impressed. Their pump was really quiet. I thought it was cool they have an upgrade option for retro fitting the popular March/Chugger pumps.

I am also impressed. Watched this comparison video today

I have been thinking about going to this lil guy, it's whisper quiet and ~$100 with a stainless head. https://www.williamsbrewing.com/MARK-II ... P4028.aspx
My only concern is I have a heavy 3 way valve on the output of my March. The Blichmann already has a valve so it's kind of worthless to me and the Mark II just seems fragile what I have read on it.

Re: New Pump from Blichmann
Me too. I've got a Chugger that has always been problematic that I need to replace. And, quieter is nice too.

That keg king pump is even quieter.
I can't seem to link his video from FB. https://www.facebook.com/search/videos/?q=the%20beerery

Re: New Pump from Blichmann
Unsure why I feel the need to buy more brew gear I don't need for several reasons. I would love a quieter pump than my old hand-me-down March. This Riptide seems to fit that bill, BUT.....here we go:
-Not center inlet so the orientation will not work for me. I have a 3 way output valve and it has to orient north.
-Even if it would work I need to replace my 3/4" TC with a 1/2"TC fitting (more money wasted)
-The integrated valve is slick in design, but worthless to me so it would remain wide open 100% of the time
-The air release is also not needed IMO
If I can find out if the Keg King pump can produce a good whirlpool for 12 gallons I may give that a try and report back. Still would need a 1/2" TC fitting, but it's half the cost.
