New Anova Sous Vide

Post by tony b »

Anova just announced that they have a new model that's under $100. If you've thought about getting a sous vide circulator, this one would be the one to get. Move quickly to get in on this great price - $69.

Hmmm, interesting. Coincidentally I just starting "sous vide cooking" with a spare slow cooker and Inkbird temp controller this week. Pork chop and salmon fillet later I'm fully sold on the technique.

Josh, welcome to the wonderful world of sous vide cooking. As you've discovered, seafood comes out perfect (try shrimp). But, the best is cooking a nice thick steak, then searing it off on the grill - doesn't get any better.

I own 2 circulators - the original Anova and a cheaper one from a different manufacturer that I got because it has an adjustable collar, which works better in smaller pots than the old Anova (fixed mounting bracket). If I'd have only known that they were working on this new model, might have held out. Can't be this price on ANY model that I've seen out there.

I actually use them in the brewroom, too. Can heat up my strike water to the exact temp I want, then I can set the temperature all the way down, so the heater doesn't come on, but the circulator does, for whirlpooling during my chill down.
