Rivers Edge Homebrew Festiv-Ale 2017

Post by Matt F »

Rivers Edge Homebrew Festiv-ALE is Rock Island's Homebrew Fest, featuring Homebrew clubs from around the Midwest with over 50 different brews to sample.

Saturday, July 15, 2-6pm, on the Great River Plaza in downtown Rock Island. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 day of. We get in free with beer. This event is presented by The District, and sponsored by RIBCO, Rivers Edge Fermentation Society, & MUGZ.

We usually have a group of guys that go pour and say it is a great time. I encourage you to send beer and go pour beer. These clubs have always been there at our festival and I like to support their group in return. Plus fun!

I talked with Jason Parris just yesterday....we are cleared to bring the trailer if we want, they will reserve an area on the plaza just for us, so that we can set up in front of the trailer.

Cool. If you guys take the trailer may as well roll out our 10 tap bar. Pretty easy to setup and it is awesome. Trailer is light and can be pulled by most anything with a standard tow hitch. It uses a 2" ball.

I've gone every year and it's a BLAST. These guys do it right and everyone - brewers, crew & public have a great time. It's on my calendar to go. Just gotta plan a beer for it now.

Can someone with Admin privileges put this event into our Beer App?

Rivers Edge is coming up two weeks from this Saturday.

We need your beer contributions posted (how many Imperial Stouts will we have?).

I also would like some volunteers to join me. The plan at this time is to take the trailer, we will get to park it in the pedestrian square and setup our tent and roll out a bar....will be our most impressive showing in their 3rd year.

Mike has set up the herokuapp for Rivers Edge, so populate as soon as you can so we can begin planning logistics.

And respond here if you can attend.

Cheers,
D

That's the 15th? If so I should be able to go. I'll have at least one beer ready. No stout though as we poured all of mine at HBC. Yes, I saved some bottles for the comp.

Count me in to go down for it. Great time. And yes, I'll be one of those guys pouring my Imperial Stout. Only beer that I have ready right now. Got one in the fermenter and one in the queue for brewing (maybe this weekend?) - both are for our Festival, with leftovers going to Independence.

Sure is. It is just an average Boston lager (that is getting old sitting in my fridge).

So right now it looks like there are 4 of us going: Daryl, Randy, Tony, and me.

Anyone else going? Anyone want to send beer? I'm located fairly central in town and can take an extra keg or two if needed.

I cannot go this year, but I can send beer. I've put the basil- lemongrass pale ale and the English brown ale in on Herokuapp. And, I could send the 7C APA too if we're looking for more to fill the taps. Please let me know where to deliver the kegs.

Can we start a discussion of logistics for Saturday?

Who's pulling the trailer with the bar?

Who else is driving down?

Carpooling?

Rendezvous point/time?

I'd suggest an evening get together to discuss things, but I'm booked almost every evening this week. Tuesday evening is my only opening.
