Call for Judges - Wort Rally and Imperial Stout

Post by daryl »

I what to arrange to have all of our beer entries judged this month.

To do that, I am going to need a number of members to volunteer to judge. With regard to the Wort Rally, it is very likely you will be able to judge even if you submitted one or two beers for judging.

The Club Comp for the Imperial Stout....if you submitted, you can participate in the judging process as a Stewart.

I am proposing the following dates for judging:

Monday, July 24 -- CANCELLED, not enough judges to go forward
Tuesday, July 25 -- THIS IS A GO
Wednesday July 26 - POSTPONED, Imperial Stout Judging, not enough judges to go forward
Thursday, July 27 -- CANCELLED, not enough judges to go forward
Monday July 31 -- CANCELLED, until the first round of judging is complete

Let's try to start by 7 PM.

Let me know what dates you are willing to judge. I hope some of you will be available for most, if not all of the dates.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout

Do we have enough judges for the 24th or are we pushing back a day? I count myself and Daryl so far posted. I'll check Monday afternoon for a 'no' or a location.

Thanks for volunteering Shane, but I am cancelling this evening's judging event - we just do not have enough judges to do a proper job.

I will be rounding a venue for us to judge tomorrow night...this will be one of the first round judging for the Wort Rally.

I'm OK with 7pm.

How about Another Road or Iowa Brewing? LBB is not open today and Quarter Barrel is often very noisy.

Is anyone else available to judge Wednesday night? If no, we will need to push out the Imperial Stout judging to a future date.

Just talked with IBC and we are cleared to meet there.

Ashley said they are having their ping pong tournament tonight, no food truck, and, they have $10 pitchers.

Please do not sample any of their palate wreckers prior to the judging, save that after the results have been tallied.

We probably will not be underway until about 7:15 pm, given scheduling of other activities at home. I will try to get there as close to 7 PM as I can.

See ya'll @ IBC. I will likely show up early and have a Pre-Game Warm-up to cleanse my palate after dinner.
