I am cancelling tonight's judging (Wednesday, July 26) of the Imperial Stout Competition. We will try again next week.

We have at least two more preliminary rounds for the Wort Rally. The minimum complement needed to execute a preliminary round will be at least three judges and one steward. For the Imperial Stout, I would like to have seven; 6 judges and one steward.

At this point, tomorrow night's judging event is at risk; we only have two volunteers needed. If we have to postpone, I will setup two dates for next week; if I have a party of seven volunteers on any one day, we will judge the Imperial Stout.

More later,

I'm still good for tomorrow/Thursday night (27th) for Wort Rally judging.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are all open for me next week. I have an entry in the Stout comp, but I could steward.

Unfortunately, tonight's judging event is cancelled, as we do not have enough volunteers for judging. And, I have cancelled the Best in Show judging, until we have all of the preliminary judging completed.

Perhaps August will be kinder to us as folk's summer vacations begin to wind down.

So.....I am going to schedule sessions every Tues and Thu until we complete the judging of the Wort Rally entries and the Imperial Stout Entries.

I am looking for judge and steward volunteers for:

Tuesday, August 1, 7PM - Wort Rally Part 2 (Belgians, Saisons, might slip in another style)

Thursday, August 3, 7PM - Wort Rally Part 3 (Fruit, Spiced, Sours, might slip in another style)

Tuesday, August 8, 7 PM - Imperial Stout

Thursday, August 10, 7 PM - Wort Rally (if needed)

Can do next Tuesday (August 1st), but not Thursday (3rd) - I have an entry in that night's session, plus I have a conference call that evening as well.

I could do Tuesday (August 8th), but would have to steward, as I have an entry in the Stout comp.

The 10th is open right now.

For tonight we have Karl, Terry, Tony, and myself....and we will make this work. Still open for one or two more judges/steward.

We will be meeting in Marion at Uptown Snug at 760 11th St, Marion, IA 52302. This one of the closed off streets that runs north of 7th Ave.

We start at 7 PM.

At this point, judging this Thursday is at risk, unless I can round up two more volunteers to judge and/or steward.

I don't think I can commit to tonight, but I can judge the Imperial Stouts on Thursday.

For this week, I published this schedule in an earlier post:

Tuesday, August 1, 7PM - Wort Rally Part 2 (Belgians, Saisons, might slip in another style)

Thursday, August 3, 7PM - Wort Rally Part 3 (Fruit, Spiced, Sours, might slip in another style)

We will do the Imperial Stouts next Tuesday....and I hope to have 6 judges and 1 or 2 stewards so we can run two tables of judging and not exhaust our palettes.

If I can't get the Stouts done next Tuesday, judging will get pushed out another week, as I will be unable to run the judging from Aug 10 until Aug 15.

But I will do what I can to get the Imperials judged before the next Meeting (on the 17th).

If you run 2 tables next Tuesday, I can judge the stouts. It will be on the steward to put my entry on the other table for judging.
