Bourbon Barrels

Post by falsenorth »

Hi guys,

I've got 4 Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels at The Quarter Barrel that I don't think I'll get around to using any time soon. I picked them up late winter/early spring (I think they showed up early in February), but have delayed the project they were intended for. I used a few from my initial order---check out the bourbon barrel aged old ale we've got on tap---but would hate for the rest to go to waste. I paid $155 a piece freshly dumped. If anybody thinks they could get some use out of a barrel, I'll let go of them for $70 each. I need the space more than I need the barrels right now. They were kept in my brewhouse until 2 weeks ago. It's plenty humid in there, so I'm not particularly worried about loss of hydration. Bu they are a few months old now though, so caveat emtor beyond that. I also have one additional Wild Turkey barrel that has been used for the previously mentioned old ale that I'd be happy to give away for free if anybody thinks they could get some use out of it.

Shoot me an email at chris@thequarterbarrel.com if you're interested.

I asked Chris that very question. They are 53 gallon. I would happily get in on this if 4 other guys want to get together and brew 10 gallons each, same recipe. Who's in????

I'd be in if the club promises to drink half of it at the Christmas party.
