Free PicoPak

Post by karl »

Picobrew sent me a free PicoPak for participating in their Kickstarter campaign earlier this year. It's for Lucky Envelope Helles Lager. But, I don't have the equipment to brew it. If anyone has a Pico brewery, you're welcome to claim it.

Here's a link to the kit: https://www.picobrew.com/brewmarketplac ... DB803A3CFC
On Tap at the Laughing-Kitten Pub:
* Foggy Bottom NEIPA
* Gluten Free Stoutish Ale
* Botched Bitter
* Club Barrel Robust Porter (cellar)
On deck/fermenting:
* Belle's Helles (cue AC/DC)

Do you guys like yours? I have only used it for sous vide so far, but am very pleased with that feature!

I have been using mine a lot, I have made several different beers, I still use a similar ferment process, I was hoping some day that liquid yeast would for in small batch size, I like it so far , and with the small size I get lots of variety and is easy to use, I want to try the sous vid

They have their limitations and difference from the "big" 10-gallon three-tier rig. But, the smaller batch size and reduced time commitment are just what I was looking for. And, they can brew really good wort.

honestly, using the small Pico pro has made me consider the next machine that does the 2.5 gallon batches, I am wondering if they will do a kickstarter on it for an upgrade, I can still use a lot of the equipment I have and still have small batch

I got my Zymatic (2.5-gallon batch size) just this year when they offered refurbished units via their Kickstarter campaign to launch the Pico C. I'm still learning it's differences in extract efficiency, hop utilization, etc. The smaller batch size makes a nice alternative to the full-scale 10-gallon brewhouse. Hopefully Picobrew will again offer the Zymatic on their next Kickstarter or offer refurbished units at a discount.

I purchased mine for the time commitment and not having to have so much beer on hand.

Speaking of which, i have a kombucha kit that came in my bundle package that I'm not going to brew since i dont want to mess with a scoby.
