Return of Dogfish Head

Post by tony b »

While at El Bait Shop, spotted some signage around saying that they were having a release party for the return of Dogfish to Iowa on Feb 21st! Fingers crossed that we'll see some over here, too!

I see a lot of hype for clone recipes for these brews, must be good, never had the pleasure of drinking one, will definitely be on the look out.

They were one of the first bigger craft breweries to distribute to Iowa many years ago. But, when they felt like they were over-distributed for their brewing capacity and didn't want to sell out like Goose Island had just done to get bigger, they just pulled back. Iowa was one of the unlucky states to lose their beers. It was common to find 90 minute IPA on tap around town here back in the day.

Really? I was told they were here illegally from a distributor across state lines that sold here and brought their excess inventory over here to sell?

They might have been talking about Avery.

Beerstyles in dsm will have 11 Dogfish Head beers on tap on the 20th. Any word on CR bars having anything that week?
