Anybody want to split 10 gallons? PM me.
I have to be at work for 14 hours on the 21st and only have time for boiling 1 batch.

You can split your wort if you like, but whomever you split it with will not be able to submit their beer in the competition.

At this time, 5 gallon purchases get one entry and 10 gallon purchases can submit two entries (under the name which the wort was purchased).

I'd suggest purchasing 5 gallons.

We need people to step up to make this happen! As of now we only have 11 brewers signed up for 95 gallons. Last year we had 26 brewers. LB makes 300 gallon batches, so if we fall too short there's a chance this event could be cancelled. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/liquidatio ... 6?aff=eac2

Today is the day....this will be the last post to remind you to sign-up for Liquidation Rally 2018.

All registrations will be handled through Event Brite. You can register for this event at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/liquidatio ... 4906709176.

Wort Vessel Drop Off will be Thursday, April 19, please have you vessel and vessel lid legibly labeled with your name.
Wort Vessel Pick Up will be Friday, April 20, assume no earlier than 5 PM....this depends on how Lion Bridge's brew day goes. If it can be earlier, I will post here and on Facebook that the wort is ready....just as soon as I know.

Don't miss out on this.....for less than the cost of a kit, you receive 5 gallons of professionally brewed, fresh wort.....you add the hops, do the boil, and amend with whatever you would like (steeping grains, sugars, fruit, etc.) to make it your own.

Good luck!

Hm... tempted to get another set for 20 gallons total. The base is so flexible I can get a lot of beer made easily!
I presume that plastic carboys in a milk crate are fine, just no glass, right?

Correct, no glass...plastic carboys are just fine.

AND...I agree, the wort is so flexible and I can boil two 10 gallon batches simultaneously...so I am with you....I am in for 10, but probably will be getting another 10 for all of the good reasons you point out.

We have plenty of head space left for wort, so everyone feel free to order extra if you like.

For those of you who are new to the Rally....the vessels can be metal or plastic, but no glass. Some brewers use Ale Pails/Brew Buckets, the Better-Bottle type carboys, or stainless steel kegs.

As long as it has a lid, is labeled (both the vessel and the lid), and is not breakable (i.e. glass)....you should be good to go.

Also note, that the 5-gallon buckets we are providing....are five gallons; so when LB fills them, there may be some head space due to foaming of the wort. Alec and the crew do their best to top off, but they are doing dozens of vessels...so there can be some spillage (after the fill) and airspace (due to foaming) in your filled vessel.

If you bought 5 gallons through Eventbrite, and have decided that you would like 10 gallons....Private Message me and I will get you an upgrade...and you can pay the difference this coming Thursday at the membership meeting.

Also...while we are limiting what you can enter for judging/scoring based upon the amount of wort your purchased....I do not believe we need to impose that limit on the People's Choice pour event at the June Happy Hour...Bring your splits to pour and let the public choose their favorites.

Cheers,
Daryl

Did we get enough entries? Are we still on for drop-off Thursday/pick-up Friday?

As far as I know we are moving forward. Not as many gallons as last year but enough.

I provided our numbers to Lion Bridge, they are identical to last year's rally.

Unless I hear otherwise, I will be buying buckets today!

Today is the day for vessel drop off.

Last minute instructions

Lion Bridge will receive buckets/carboys/kegs until 9 PM on Thursday, April 19. They can be plastic or metal....but please no glass.

Please make sure you have clearly and legibly marked your vessel and lid with your first and last name. Masking tape and a magic marker work great....they only have to stay on your vessels/lids for little over 24 hours.

The Wort will be ready for pick up on Friday, April 20, at or just after Noon. Alec, and I am sure some of the staff, are starting their brew day early so that our brew day can end at a reasonable hour.
