April 2018 - Dunkles Weissbier - Call for Judges

Post by daryl »

This is the call for judges, to judge the submissions for this quarter's club competition.

Location will be determined, once we have settled in on a date.

Our options are Wednesday, May 2 of Thursday May 3.

We can get by with 4, but six is better. It is good to have a steward or two as well, but I will process the entries such that we can self steward.

Please post if you can judge on one or both of these dates.

If you are new to judging, don't worry, we will coach you up - there are some variables to track, but you will be guided by the style sheet for these beers....don't be shy, there will be experienced members there that will be glad to help you along.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout
In the bucket:
In the queue: Irish Red, American IPA

I can steward but not judge as I have a horse in this race.

Either night can work after 7:30.

Sorry for the downtime, but I have been a little under the weather this week.

Let's do some judging? Who would be available to judge tomorrow evening starting at 7 PM?

Location to be announced mid day tomorrow (likely Clock House, if we get a minimum number of judges and their bar is available).

Post a reply if you are available.

Dumb question but if you have tasted an entered brew for this (1 sample) a few weeks ago, your out for judging correct?
I only ask because I I'm free tomorrow night, and didn't know if you were hurting for judges.

Should be fine, I won’t speak for Daryl but if you’re available you’d be most welcome.

The tastings will be done in the blind, so, since it has been a few weeks, you should be just fine.

Thanks Terry and Randy.

I could use the help....hoping to secure one more judge....but if no, I'll give it go so we can have two tables going.

We have nine entries, and I think it is an interesting style.
