Selling Glass Carboys

Post by DrPaulsen »

I have two glass carboys for sale. One is 6 gal, the other is 6.5 gal.

Each includes a carboy cap (orange for 6 gal, red for 6.5 gal) and a handle. The 6.5 gal carboy also has a fermometer.

I'm thinking $35 each.

Are you going to Better Bottles or a conical?

Selling Glass Carboys

Yeah, I’m curious too, I’ve given up on glass carboys.. I don’t like how slippery, and heavy those glass ones are, and the better bottle I have which is easier to work with is still a pain to clean. I tend to use buckets and just change them out more frequently, although the pails have really gone up in price lately so I’m juggling between the two.

Better Bottles for primary and corney kegs for secondary. I'm not 100% convinced that the PET bottles are as good as my current glass carboys, but Management has requested I make the move.

I'd like to get a stainless conical someday, but that's probably 5+ years out.

I have even considered the poly conicals. I can get a 15 gallon for about $60. I don't think I would use it for anything that needs to sit very long, but they can't be any worse then a bucket. I can always use glass or a keg for aging.

I got a 26 gallon plastic conical, never used with a racking tube and metal stand I’d let go for cheap.. just make an offer. I’ve had it for years, but never decided to use it, so I should get it to a good home.

The 6.5 gal carboy is taken. I still have the 6 gal one, though.

I have the 15gal and have built a stand, and figured out all the damn plumbing. I have used it twice. I need to make a viewing glass in the lid and seal it airtight.
