2019 Lion Bridge/CRBS Wort Rally and Pro-AM Qualifier

2019 Lion Bridge/CRBS Wort Rally and Pro-AM Qualifier - Preliminary Information

UPDATE: 3/7/2019 - Wort Registration is now open - about a week ahead of schedule! You can register at http://cedarrapidsbrewingsociety.org/bcoe/.

Here are the tentative dates for this year's wort rally - but we are locked in on the Wort Pick Up Date....it will be in Lion Bridge's Brew Schedule.

Because of its versatility, we will be using the wort for Yard Sale. All entries must use the 2019 Yard Sale Wort, to be picked up on April 5, 2019/entries to be turned in no later than 5/10/2019.

You will be performing two registrations...one for the Wort Rally wort, and a second for your entries into the competition. In this way, brewers can calibrate their submissions to the finished beer.

I have arranged the dates so that your beer will be turned in 5 weeks after you brew, it will be judged a week later, and then the Happy Hour People's Choice competition one week after that. So IPAs should be fresh and ales will have time to condition.

Lion Bridge intends to select at least one winning beer of their choice (Gold, Silver or Bronze in Best of Show or Best in Class/Flight), to brew on their system for the purpose of pouring it for sale in their taproom and for submitting as an entry for the 2019 GABF Pro Am Competition. My fellow brewers, this has been three years in the making and THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS YEAR!

More details will follow as well as requests for assistance/call to action for tasks that will need to be executed over the next 7 months.

Pricing for the wort and entry fees will be posted at a later date.

This post will be updated as changes occur in the schedule and when we launch an official registration website (February 2019).

Cheers,
Daryl

The event has been registered and the application fee paid.

The response I received said that our fee would be processed in the next two weeks....so within that time period, it should show up on the AHA Competition Calendar.

Edit to this post....We are now live:

https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/ ... qualifier/

At this time, the link will bring you to this Forum Thread....in the future, it will take you to our Registration Site......will try to have a beta version visible to the Club as a dress rehearsal before going live.

Wort Registration is now open, to the club and to non-club members.

You can register for wort at http://cedarrapidsbrewingsociety.org/bcoe/.

While registration closes April 2, we do have a limited amount of wort to distribute. Once we reach capacity, registration will be closed.

So please, if you would like to participate, register early.

Be sure to share this information with your fellow brewers that are not club members.

Thanks,
D

Wort Rally Registration is open, and has been for about a week.

Because this year's Rally feeds into a sanctioned AHA event, we will have much more participation from non-CRBS members. Which is a good, but may cause us to hit our limit on wort availability.

Do not delay, over 100 of the 300 gallons has already been claimed.

AND.....Wort Pick-up is 3 weeks from today!

I think I registered a while ago, but I can't find any record of it (last few weeks have been hectic). I paid just now.
Any way to confirm whether I did register properly?

10 Gallons - no bucket - is what is registered in your name.

I can see my order if I click on "View your account details here"; I think you will see yours under your account.

There are only 10 days left to register for wort....nearly half of the supply has been sold.

There may not be wort available for last minute purchases, so if you are intending to participate, please make your purchase while supplies remain.

Cheers,
Daryl

Was there a dollar amount decided on for an extra entry?
Example, buying 5 gallons but wanting 2 separate entries?

The final number has not been decided yet...it will be on the order of $5-$8 per additional entry. We should have this settled before the end of the week.

We are in the final hours to register for Wort...go to the following URL to register, order, and pay for your wort.....

http://cedarrapidsbrewingsociety.org/bcoe/

Lion Bridge will select one of the Best of Show or Best of Class/Flight beers; regardless of place, to be brewed on their system, for the purpose of entering the GABF ProAM competition later this year.

Lion Bridge will provide a ticket to attend the GABF on Saturday, October 5 to the brewer of the selected beer. The brewer is required to make their own travel arrangements and pay for their own hotel, food, transportation expenses and all other travel expenses.
