Virtual Big Brew Day - May 2 - The World's LARGEST

Post by daryl »

Dust off your equipment, select a recipe, and update your inventory to get ready for "THE WORLD'S LARGEST VIRTUAL BIG BREW on Saturday, May 2.

We will host a online meeting to coincide with this event so you can show off your skills and your set up or just hang out.

When would be the best time to do a group brew? We could hold more than one session - early afternoon and late afternoon? Or would evening work best?

There is a proposed recipe for folks to use....but you can brew what you want.

Are you ready to brew?

Post your druthers on what time you would like to brew so that we can select a time. And when your ready, post what type of beer you are going to make.

Post your pledge to participate in BIG BREW at https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/ ... ebrew-day/ and receive $5 off AHA membership.

Cheers,
Daryl

I’ll probably be brewing that day, going to be starting a lambic. I usually try to start brewing in the mornings, mashing in around 9.

We're a week away, so how do we want to do this? I'd like to start my brew between 9-10 am. We can do a Jitsi meetup again if folks want, and that can also be made public.

Anyone can start a meet just by going to meet.jit.si. A meeting doesn't exists until the first person joins. You just type in a name for the meeting and hit start. Then others can join just by using that name in the app or in a web browser. It's seamless and easy. You can set a password if you want to limit who can join. I don't think there's a limit on number of people or a time limit.

I'll probably have one device showing my brew working and maybe a second for chatting. You can add names to each session/device.

I'm planning on brewing Saturday morning and would join in on an online meeting if other folks are brewing as well.

Leaning towards doing back to back brews Saturday so I'll probably start a bit earlier but can join the call whenever.

Don't forget...

Post your pledge to participate in BIG BREW at https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/ ... ebrew-day/ and receive $5 off AHA membership.

AHA is keeping a rolling total of gallons brewed.

If you are not an AHA member, I recommend you consider becoming one. The AHA (associated with the Brewer's Association) is our one and only homebrew legislation advocate we have. They look out for the interests of its members and craft beer in general. And Zymurgy is a heck of good magazine....its a good read every month.
