June Meeting at House Divided - June 18
June Meeting at House Divided - June 18
Folks,
It's time to try to get back to some level of normalcy and resume our face-to-face (or mask-to-mask) meetings. As we begin to regroup, we will be selecting meeting locations that have outdoor venues.
Unless stricter restrictions are enforced between now and June 18, we will meet at House Divided Brewery at 1620 Dows Street in Ely, Iowa. Which is operated and co-owned by one of our own CRBS brewers, Cal Corrin.
https://www.housedividedbrewery.com/
As is usual, social time will start around 7:30 PM with the business meeting around 8.
Bottle shares are allowed and encouraged. For safety's sake, prior to pouring, please wash your hands, wash the outside of your bottles; and please do your very best to do touchless pours (pour without touching the sample glass). Do this, and we will all be safe.
I do not know if Cal has plans for a food truck to be there, but Odie's is next store and will be available for dine-in or carry-out food.
I hope to see you at the June meeting.
Daryl

Re: June Meeting at House Divided - June 18
This will be our first meeting in the COVID-19 era, and we will need to take personal responsibility to keep everyone safe.
While attending this meeting, please follow the state's recommended practices:
1) If you are not feeling well, or if you have a fever, or you are experiencing a sore throat, shortness of breath or a persistent cough please stay at home.
2) If you have to sneeze or cough, due to allergies, please sneeze or cough into the bend of your elbow.
3) Wash your hands frequently, for 20 seconds or more.
4) Maintain social distancing; 6 feet if all parties are wearing a mask; further if one or more are not wearing a mask.
5) Bottle shares - we can make this happen and keep it safe, if we all work to make sure we are doing contact-free pours. This can be accomplished by making sure the lip of the bottle/growler/etc does not touch the edge of the recipients glass. Can you maintain social distancing, without a mask, and participate in a bottle share? Probably not, but you can minimize the time spent in close proximity....get your sample and separate!
If you are uncomfortable in participating in the bottle share, then do not participate.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
We should have plenty of room on House Divided's Green Area....looks like it will be a nice evening. I'm really looking forward to 'seeing' everyone.
Cheers,
Daryl

I was at Benz today, and the guy was wondering if we know what our beer fest plans are in August. He needs to put in the permitting paperwork soon.

Looking less likely that I will make it. Heading out of town Saturday morning on a fishing trip and it is tough getting a family of six ready to go anywhere. See you if I see you.

Does anyone have a pH meter I can borrow? Mine quit working and I am brewing another sour tomorrow.
