I have my 5 gallons ready. It’s still hanging out in the fermenter. What is the best vessel to put it in to be able to transfer it to the barrel? Should I put it in a keg? Will there be some way to push it out of kegs into the barrel? I have a busy work schedule tomorrow and Friday but should be able to drop it off this weekend sometime.

What's the plan for distribution back to contributors? Andrew and I are planning to each bring an empty, sanitized keg to help empty out the barrel for the RIS. I figure for every 5 gallons of porter put in, we'll get 3.5-4 gallons back out with the remainder going to the club. Does that sound about right? I'm just making sure we have everything that's needed to empty the barrel for the RIS.

Sunday 24-Jan, 2pm. My house 1440 Forest Ln Marion for emptying the barrel of porter. Then we’ll put in the RIS afterward. If only dropping off RIS, 3:30 should be a good time.

Pros: great bourbon on the nose, vanilla, oak
Very smooth, no alcohol heat, probably due to abv being pretty low for a barrel aged beer.
Not overly sweet or heavy
Cons: maybe a little thin on the finish
A little more body would be nice.
Might have kept it in the barrel a little too long?
Overall I really like it so far. I’m impressed by how much bourbon/barrel character it has from just a few months. Smells like I just opened a bottle of whiskey when I open the tap! Nice work fellow brewers! I’ll try it again later this week and reevaluate, I’m just slow carbing it at 12psi so it may have only been 90-95% carbonated when I tried it yesterday which could affect the mouthfeel a little.

Upon reevaluation, this beer is delicious. Also dangerously drinkable. I wonder what the final abv ended up at. Stronger than I thought it was!
