Club Cabinet Election - Nov 2021

Thinking about running for office? Here's the positions and requirements.

Please respond with a post to nominate yourself for the position that interests you. All positions are open.

When: Elections take place at our November meeting. This meeting is held in a private location. Guests are allowed, but will be asked to leave during voting.
Eligibility:Any person who has been a Full Member for at least six (6) months and is in good standing with this Club may run for an elected office.

Roles:
Section 1. President
The duties of the President shall be as follows:
a. To uphold the Constitution and By-Laws of the Club
b. To interpret the Constitution and By-Laws of this Club when necessary.
c. To set the theme and agenda for the meetings.
d. To call meetings to order and conduct them in an orderly manner.
e. To call for special meetings when necessary.
f. To form committees when necessary.
g. Shall be an Ex-officio member of all committees.
h. Shall have no vote on motions made at membership meetings and/or Board of Directors meetings, except to break a tie.


Section 2. Vice-President
The duties of the Vice-President shall be as follows:

a. To assist the President with his duties,
b. To maintain the inventory and dispersal of club gear, e.g., t-shirts, hats, glasses, etc.; and, .
c. If the President is absent from any meeting, the Vice-President shall assume the President's power for that meeting.

Section 3. Secretary
The duties of the Secretary shall be as follows:
a. To take the minutes of Board of Directors meetings and membership meetings,
b. To maintain a file of all minutes and post them on the Club website in a timely manner; and,
c. If the President and Vice-President are both absent from any meeting, then the Secretary shall chair the meeting


Section 4. Treasurer
The duties of the Treasurer shall be as follows:
a. To administer the Club's finances,
b. To collect and document monies owed to the Club, including the listing of Full Members in good standing,
c. To manage the club’s financial accounts and arrange to have the President and him/her self (Treasurer) to have authority to disperse funds,
d. To reimburse expenses incurred by members on behalf of the Club; and,
e. To submit a verbal report to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis, or when requested by the President.

Section 5. Activities Director
The duties of the Activities Director shall be as follows:
a. To arrange to have guest speakers and demonstrations at membership meetings,
b. To arrange any club festivals,
c. To arrange for tours, workshops, and seminars in which the Club may participate
d. To coordinate and organize CEDAR RAPIDS BEER NUTS competition efforts.
The Activities Director may form committees to achieve these duties and shall serve as Committee Chair.

Social Media Coordinator -- main jobs are Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. Basically they control the 'marketing' of the BeerNuts.

Beer Nuts Festival Coordinator - lead the festival planning

I can run for Secretary again. However, I plan on relocating at some point this year to Iowa City and I don't know if I will be able to attend all meetings or cabinet meetings after I relocate. Thus I may not be the best person to run.

I will run for President for 2022 - It truly is an privilege and an honor to serve in this position in CRBS.
You are all a great group, let's do some more events in the coming year!

I am not much on campaign promises, you know me and pretty much how I operate, but I will make one commitment. If elected for another term, as for as long as I continue to serve as President, I will serve as Assistant to our Festival Director. I really want to work with and serve the incoming director to offer up some new ideas and approaches to the Festival, and to continue the good work Ryan did for Drink Local 2021 - this would not have happened with out you Ryan - Thank you.
