Happy Hour at LBB?

Post by diveshlakhi »

Jonah the beertender at Lion Bridge texted me saying that Ana and Wendy (the GM) would like to invite us back for Happy Hour at Lion Bridge from April. He requested that I pass this information along to our group.

While I hate to abandon Thew, as Haley was kind to us to let us host there when Lion Bridge went "cold," we just haven't seen the turnout there that we got at Lion Bridge. Worth discussing at the next Club meeting.

Agreed. Thew Happy Hours are pretty quiet, although I hate to abandon them after they welcomed us in. We can discuss it at the next club meeting, which will give us plenty of time before the April HH. The options I see are: a) stay at Thew, b) return to Lion Bridge, or c) alternate between Thew and LB. Option C spreads the love around but is going to require more coordination and reminders.

It might be nice to spread the love and rotate locations....I think all of the breweries and brew pubs would be on board.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout
In the bucket:
In the queue: Irish Red, American IPA

When the cabinet met, Eric at Hospoda said he'd be all about hosting club events. FB, ours and the event host would be key I think if we rotate happy hour locations. Maybe a flyer we can hang in a window or door a week or so in advance so patrons who aren't on Facebook know too. There's a lot of drawing power in free beer if people know about it. I was just spoiled when I ran the LB happy hour because it was such a long standing event with them.

Update on this topic. Last night the cabinet agreed that it would be fairly confusing for members and people who follow the Happy Hour if we rotate its location every month. With the good success we saw last month at Lion Bridge, and since people know to find us there, we've decided to continue holding Happy Hours with them. Ana at Lion Bridge was excited to hear it when I reached out to her. The cabinet did also talk about rotating the HH to Hospoda at some point, but we're going to see how popular they are on a Sunday afternoon. Though as an Activities Coordinator with only low to medium ability at coordination, I am in favor of the option that requires the least amount of cat herding.

TL;DR Happy Hour is staying at Lion Bridge for the foreseeable future.

I am in 100% agreement with what we decided at the cabinet meeting last night.

We just don't have many options for meetings or happy hours.
