Australian Sparkling Ale

Post by mjensen52402 »

There was some discussion on Sunday's Happy Hour about sourcing the ingredients for this beer.

Yeast
https://www.beveragecraft.com/coopers-dry-beer-yeast/

https://nthomebrew.com/coopers-ale-yeast/

Hops
https://www.northernbrewer.com/products ... op-pellets

https://annapolishomebrew.com/products/ ... oIQAvD_BwE

Entire kit
https://brewart.com/us/coopers-sparkling-ale

https://www.dannyswineandbeer.com/produ ... ng-ale-kit

If anyone is interested in a group yeast buy let me know. It is ridiculous to buy $3 worth of yeast and pay huge shipping costs. It is just as easy to buy $9 worth of yeast and huge shipping costs.

Thanks for doing some more research, Mark. But, as I found, some sources are "out of stock" currently and others aren't in the US (no shipping from Canada.) However, it's looking like we can still pull this one off, but as you noted, shipping is pricey!!

Looks like White Labs isn’t releasing their Australian Ale yeast until October Image

I'd be interested. We'll see if I can make a beer in my house without it going sour. :-)

Every HBS I ordered Cooper's Ale Yeast from canceled my order 10 days after I places it.
I reached out to the brewery. They said no. I again reached out about ordering it from an Aussie HBS. They said there is no such things as "Cooper's Sparkling Ale Yeast" available to homebrewers. The packages of yeast that are sold are mixtures of all of their yeasts combined into one package.

Tony is right. We can't get the yeast.

I followed your advice and ordered the Coopers "kit" for making it, mainly to get the yeast packet. So, what I'm hearing is that this packet is just their stock blend and not tailored to the Sparkling Ale?? Guess that I'll just have to roll with it.

I have also bought the kit, just to get the yeast. Which turns out not to be the yeast they use in the brewery, but a mixture.

I am going to make a starter of the yeast I received. If you want some give me a heads up and I will get you in on it.

I just ordered 6 packages of yeast. 10 bucks a piece with shipping. Let me know if you want one.

Don't be surprised if your order gets cancelled in a week. It kept happening to me when I tried to order before..

Hops has shipped.

The shop with the yeast says they have five packets in stock. Still waiting for a shipping confirmation though.

I will let everyone know if/when it ships.

I have the kit, also, but will take a 2nd pack of yeast - if there's any leftovers. I don't want to hoard one if others need it. I bought the hops earlier, so I'm good there.

Thanks, Pat!

I would also take a pack of yeast if you have leftovers.
