New Brewery...

Post by pete »

Did anyone else read the Gazette story today about a new microbrewery in Oelwein? Hub City Brewing, housed in a refurbished barn and hog-farrowing building..(how "Iowa")...they are offering an Oatmeal Stout, a Wheat, and a Brown Ale.

They have a tasting room, and will be selling through bars and groceries...

Good luck to them, hope to see some of their beers around.

Saw this article, too. Maybe a road trip is in order for the club to go check it out?

I happen to be part owner of a Party Bus. Might make for a nice group outing. It can fit 33 or so people and has a fully funtional bathroom. If you ever saw the old 3rd Base Bus then that is the one, I believe we have pictures on our website www.teamwasp.org. I can't get it for free but I may be able to get a discount. A good one if anyone knows someone with a class B CDL, Passenger Endorsement and Airbrakes. Just something to keep in mind.

It would be great to find a driver for the party bus. We discussed a trip to visit breweries in and around Madison, Wisconsin this summer or fall. Depending on cost, it would be great to cover it with club dues. Anyone know a qualified driver with a tolerance for the inebriated?

Just as a reminder, if you send an e-mail to the club, please include a signature because we don't always recognize the sender's e-mail address. In this case: Who are you? The bus sounds good, BTW. Can you find out how much it would cost us to rent it? Thanks.
