Tony, good Idea on the beer flyers.

My info
Satan's Wood
Oak Ages Belgian Strong Ale
Orginal Gravity 1.092
Alcohol by Volume 10.3%
Brewers: Brian Anderson & Dave Coughlin

Description:
This is a well balanced very complex beer that finishes dry and leaves you craving more. It’s an authentic Belgian Style ale with a couple twists. Golden in color with complex and powerful flavors brought on by the addition of crushed coriander seeds, and lightly toasted French oak chips. The coriander seeds impart a refreshing citrus flavor which can be experience not only in the beer but also the aroma. The oak is very subtle and should only be experienced on the back with finish. A slight hint can be found in the aroma as it warms. This style typically has a little fruit flavor as well that can also be experienced along the way to your final destination. Please enjoy.

I agree, we need to get this beer to Millstream as soon as possible so the sediment has time to settle out. I would hate to be serving cloudy beer to people who have paid $30 for this event. Presentation of the beer is critical. We also need to know if the kegs will be ok not having CO2 on them at millstream of if they still need to be carbonated/coniditioned.

My info

Killer Bees
Imperial Honey Weiss
Original Gravity 1.093
Alcohol by Volume 9.8%
Brewer Tom Burns

Discription:
A Honey Weiss with a bit of a kick. 2row, wheat, and honey malts stepped up with belgian candy sugar and magnum hops. Fermented on raw honey it has a rich malty taste with a slightly sweet backround.

Sorry I'm not as poetic as BA. If you want to spice it up go ahead.

I will drop mine off. I go that way anyway. I don't know if I can get them all in the car though. We can hook them up, but I don't think it should hurt them to just sit under pressure. Or I could stop Friday after work and hook them up.

Got this email announcement from Cedar Ridge folks:

Chocolate Dessert Pairing This Saturday, February 20
When Cedar Ridge moved from downtown Cedar Rapids out to our new vineyard property, we found two cases of old Lot # 5 Port among our “stuff!"

It is drinking incredibly well and deserves the proper accompaniment. So, Carolyn has created the perfect match – freshly baked pecan/caramel-filled chocolate brownie, topped with a raspberry syrup made from our distillery’s Lamponcella Liqueur! This match is amazing.

On Saturday, February 20, we’ll be offering up a bottle of the Lot #5 Port, along with a warm Chocolate Dessert.

For Two, for $29. (Limit one bottle of Lot 5 per couple, while the supply lasts.) Those of you who prefer our Cabernet or LoVines with chocolate can add the Brownie for Two to the cost of a bottle of either for $11.

They don't give a time, but we could have serious competition!!

Seeing a lot of chatter about beer pick and delivery, but no details. Pick a time/place for us to drop off, if Tom or Dave are willing to deliver. I have Tom B's spare CO2 rig, too.

Jeremy, need info about your beers, son. I know things are hectic with the newborne, but throw me a bone here! I only have a couple of nights to work on the flyer and get it printed by Saturday.

Same goes for Tom's RIS and Travis' braggot.

Tom B., is the Farmhouse in or out? Info, please!

Let's kick this thing in the ass and make it rock!!

Tony, I'm not sure if the Farmhouse will make it or not. I won't know till I try to blend it. If it works it will have to be an unannounced release. If you want to bring the beer to the whiskey tasting tomorrow I can take it from there. If not I can pick up the beer and tank on Thursday. I can drop them off Friday after work. 24 hours should be enough to settle down.

Sounds like the wine and chocolate is just a stop and buy, not really a hang out and drink. Though knowing Jeff samples will be avaliable.

Oh and the new box won't be ready. Any chance we could use one of 3B's?

Sounds like a gathering at the Benz tasting, plus could be a mini Officers meeting, if Big T comes along.

I will plan to bring the keg of Olde English and your CO2 tank (plus, your wrench!).

Attached is the draft of the flyer. I need to fill in Jeremy's beers and short descriptions of the specialty beers.

I also need to know who's coming to the event to pour. I will have our new badges for those folks.

February 20th 2010 Beer Tasting at Millstream

Post by Mr T »

Tony, I’ll see what I can do about tomorrow night, I’m fairly tied up at the moment with family stuff but I’m still hoping to be there this Saturday at the millstream event. I also have a draft box and that keg of braggot, or bracket if we want that as a special pour, its fairly young, haven’t tasted it yet, but I’m kicking the keg around on the floor trying to get it to carbonate.

Is someone taking a list of all the equipment???????? Again, I still have the nightmare that were going to have plenty of beer, but have to ladle it out of the keg with no equipment.

I will talk to Little T and see if can get the tap box wood cover from him. I have coke kegs so I will be bringing my own tap equipment with me. How many kegs will be having going at one time?

Tom has a 3 tap box so he as connections to pour 3. I will have my own, so that will be 4. If we want 6 on at a time, we need two more dispensing tap connections. Dave C has picnic taps for his beers if he can bring those, we should be good.

So who is bringing CO2 and the connections for pepsi kegs and how many connections do you have? Not to worried about the number of CO2 connection just that we have 2-3. They can always be moved from keg to keg if need be.

Dave and I plan to take out beer to Millstream tomorrow. If you want your beer to go down there tomorrow, contact Dave or I and we can meet somewhere.

Here's the description for my RIS, feel free to edit as you see fit:

Oak aged Russian Imperial Stout
OG: 1.098
ABV: 10.1%

A richly dark roasty brew, aged on oak. Made with 2-row, dark crystal, brown malt, black patent malt, and roasted barley, with English hops. Expect warm roasty flavors, with notes of vanilla and coffee.

Also, some of these styles are better NOT ice cold, so, while not as eloquent to serve, picnic taps should be fine.
