Pyment

Post by kurtford »

I was wondering if we wanted to do the pyment competition at my place this weekend. From the sounds of things it would be pretty quick and easy.

We could do it saturday night or anytime sunday.
I know Brando volunteered to be one of the judges.

If interested in being there please reply with a day and time we could all get together for this to make this happen.

Thanks,

Kurt

Hi Kurt,

My name is Nic. I've haven't been to a meeting in a while but I've heard you're looking for judges for pyment. I'd gladly be a judge. I should be available this weekend after 5:30 pm. Let me know any details.

Cheers,
Nic

Just making sure that we are still planning to do the pyment judging tonight.

We'll be cooking dinner tonight for whoever shows up, not sure what yet but probably grilling something. Should be a pretty good experience for anyone that hasn't ever judged before.

Just so I know, which of my Pyments made it, the Red or White?

I did mention that I had 2 entries, right?

ha ha, thats funny, each big bottle contained a different Pyment. One was a red Pyment one was a white. Thats funny!

Guess I should have identified them as different. I will learn for next time. I did kind of figure the differences in color would have given it away.

I didn't look at both bottles that closely to see the difference, I just assumed it was 2 bottles of the same stuff. Pretty funny

I think we should just give me 1st and 2nd place to be on the safe side. Really the other one would have won! ha ha

Correction Make that 1st and 3rd as I currently got 2nd so that would have bumped to 3rd.

C.J. I didn’t know either, that is interesting, you were suppose to enter 2 of each. Also for future reference we should of specified strength, carbonation and sweetness level as Mead in general is a fairly open category and if someone enters a Mead that is labeled as “still” and it feels like Champaign then that is a knock against them.

Not saying I would of got 1st if we had, its pretty weak, I liked the wine better that I split from the batch than the pyment. But then again, I stash this away for a year like it should have been aged, its might not be too shabby.
