3068 & Citra
3068 & Citra
I just tried my IP Wheat. The first glass out of the keg was all yeast. It had a sulphor-yeasty smell. The second glass started out that way (smell wise, though not as yeasty). After a few minutes the banana/clove nose came out with a real fruity mix from the citra. The taste is a real fruity mix, wheaty with a bitter end, no sulphor at all. The beer is just carbed so I think the nose will change. If I turn into a hop head this variety might do it. I'm glad I got a pound.

Jesus must have been a yeast. Who else could turn water into wine?

The beer tastes better today. This is the first time I fermented cold with the 3068 and I think it has a heavy clove nose and taste. That combined with cara wheat and a flame out citra addition make for a lot of aromas and flavors in this one. Almost to much. It's a 7% wheat with 56 IBUs on top of that.
