Have Baconator, Will Travel!

I'll be there - pork in hand -

Fellow Nuts-

Final update and reminder about Saturday’s Big Brew behind 3rd base brewing.

We start at 8 AM, but if you show up later I’m sure we will probably be there until roughly mid afternoon. We also picked up a decent size canopy for the club, so if its slightly rainy or the sun is beating down on you we do have some shelter. Of course if the weather is real bad we roll into 3rd. base.

I also anticipate one of the news channels or Gazette might be stopping by that day, don’t know how the word leaked. :) So please represent the club by not wearing anything too offensive in the chance you get some TV time.

The rough plan for the day is to have several folks take turns helping brew in the actually brew pub! This is your chance to get your hands on something bigger than that 20 qt pot on the stove. I’m also hoping we will have one or two grills going so bring something to grill and if your nice a side to share with the group. I have some spare utensils and what not I’ll try and bring as I’m bringing potato salad.

Also feel free to bring your cooler with some beer to share, you can’t roll your cooler into the bar but we can indulge in some home brew or other tasting out back.

Lastly and maybe most importantly this is your chance to bring any brew buddies that might not be able to make it to the Thursday meetings or other pals that are interested in home brewing.

If you are any of the folks that have any club stuff, I think I have the banner and such, please bring that along. Of course if you think of anything else, duct tape, weights for the tent, etc. odds are were going to be missing something. So I hoping someone Saturday is ready to play McGyver if need be.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out Saturday!

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate. Only slight chance of rain Saturday night. The morning starts mostly sunny and 50 degrees and expected to stay sunny hitting around 70. May be a little wind but I think we can manage.

I'll bring some paper plates, plastic silverware, ketchup, mustard, and potato salad that I put in the other post. I'll try to find a couple beers to bring.

The brewery is cleaned and stocked and ready for a bunch of hacks to throw together a thing called beer.

Well this is just perfect.   My boiler isn't working.  I have a guy on the way tonight to fix it.  Keep your fingers crossed.  No boiler = no brew.

If he doesn't get it fixed I'll let you know ASAP.  If you don't hear back from me then we're all good to go.

Broken pump.   I should know pretty soon if we need to cancel.   Looks like a possibility.

Can we all bring gear and make it happen? Or does anyone have a sculpture? I have a small 4x6' enclosed trailer if we need to haul something.

Edit: While I was posting this, Travis was posting the good news. Looks like cause for a celebratory drink.... :D

So in the worst case, we set up the grills in the parking lot, drink beer, and pretend to brew.

We could always drag a couple "garage" systems over there, and do the brewing outside.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone sees this so I sent it again.

They fixed the pump.  We are good to go as planned.

All, one more reminder and that is bring some lawn chairs.

Anyone have any folding tables, I think I have one I can bring, we got two grills? I know the baconators will hog up one grill half the day.

If we started up a grill early I would be tempted to whip up some cinn. Rolls in the morning.

Cheers!

Well if the pump didn't work we could have just brought over an autosiphon and buckets and got it done. That or I know somebody in the club starts siphons by sucking on a hose.

Big Brew Day

Post by Lower Case T »

Hey guys/gals,

Thanks for coming this weekend and thanks for all the help, food, and most importantly the beer.

The Munich Summer Fest (is that what we want to call it?) is fermenting nicely at 55 degrees. She is very happy in her new home.

Someone left some lawn chairs here. They are blue with red/white stripes. I'll just leave them here and who ever owns them can come grab them or donate them 8) .

Also: I just tapped a new version of the Red Rocket Amber Ale. I totally changed the hop schedule. Its still not a hoppy beer but I think its much different than before. If anyone stops in, it would be great if you could try a sample (you don't need to order a full one of course) and give me some feed back. Let me know what you think. I'd value your opinion.

Thanks again everyone. We'll have to plan some sort of release party thingy.
