Upcoming Events: Tuesday, May 25th 6:30 Red's Ale House- 'Some Like It Hopped!' featuring 10 different single hop varietial IPA's from Mikkeller on draught with a 5 course gourmet beer dinner - Tickets at the store or www.johnsgrocery.com

This would be a good opportunity to sample single hopped beers. Single hopped beers are one of the best ways to learn what a specific hop can do IMO. I can't go as I will be out of town for work.

Sounds like fun but too rich for my blood. Maybe we should go together and get these beers for our own tasting. Maybe a tech meeting topic? Should be much less than $60/person without the high class chow.

I, too, will be out of town on business that day. But, don't cry for me Argentina, as I will be in the Gas Lamp District in San Diego, with plans to be swilling at the Yard House (120+ beers on tap) at that time!!

Excellent idea, Randy. This would be a good follow-up to the grain tasting session.

I agree that is pretty steep. But, if you have never been to a well prepaired beer and food dinner, you should try one some time. I don't know how good this one will be, but I went to a $70 beer and food dinner at Monk's Cafe in Philadelphia that was hosted by a few gentleman that flew over from the St. Bernardus Brewery. It was all St. Bernardus beers, 7 courses and the first opening of the 60th Anniversay Abt 12 in America. I would pay $140 for that meal again!

Also, do it soon as the beers may not last much longer than that evening if at all.
