Earwigs

Post by jjbuck »

I am being invaded! I have cleaned and even sanitized with a steam mop. All my grains are in air-tight containers. I am still finding these critters in hoses, valves, under coolers etc. anywhere there is the smallest amount of moisture. Anybody got a home remedy ( I'm hoping I don't have to spend big $$ to a pest control company) ?? The last straw was when one crawled into my favorite coffee cup (clean by the way) and did a couple laps in my morning brew.
Ortho "Home Defense" doesn't seem to even slow 'em down.
Lid on tight on my hot liquor tun, there was easily a half dozen in the tun. There was nothing but hot water in it. :x

I've got them all over the place too. I think it's the high moisture we've got right now that's making them so abundant this year.

Any thoughts on how to get rid of them short of a professional exterminator?

Do a quick google search. It looks like Boric Acid I see them sometimes out in the flowerbeds but not in the house.

Just found one on my basil plants.

Sorry, don't have a good home remedy for getting rid of the little buggers!
