Post by tompb »

There are some stir plates coming up for auction mid July. If there is any interest I'll bid more then my normal cheap ass does. Let me know if your interested.

Stir Plates

R u talking Ebay Tom? I wouldn’t mind getting one, for the right price. Otherwise I’ve done without for over a decade.

It's not off of Ebay. It's an industrial surplus auction. They have a lot of 16.

And another lot of miscellaneous plus.

I have bid on different sized lots here before, but have only got 1. It's a sealed bid auction and I don't usually bid too high. The first lot has some nice sized ones that could easily do a 5 gallon carboy. The lot I won had 2 heat/stir plates but 1 was bad. I paid $20 for that lot. I have bid $60 on a lot the size of the first and not got it. I never wanted to spend $10 each and try to deal them out. If there is some interest I would give it a shot though. I can plug them in and make sure they work though.

Sure. I'm interested. My initial want is a decent stir plate for one and two liter flasks for re-culturing and making starters. But, the variacs, lab timers and maybe even the scale are of interest too.

I would be interested in a stir plate if they can be had for $15 or so. I would also be interested in the scale for $15 or so if it works.

If there is going to be bidding on this item, might want to post here, so people in the club are not competing against each other.

PS: I would be interested in a commerical stir plate, mine are both DIY.

My sister has mentioned a pre-emptive restraining order against you CJ.
