Bad batches of Bell's Two Hearted Ale

Post by carrisr »

I opened a bottle of Two Hearted the other night and I was pretty sure it had a slightly sour. I kind of wrote it off at the time, thinking whatever I had eaten before was the cause. Today I came across this:

and a more detailed explanation here:

The beers I currently have are from batch 9674....

You have to give them props for fessin' up and not just waiting it out and hoping no one noticed, which is what the big dogs would likely do.

Did you email Bell's? They might be offering some sort of compensation, like a coupon or something for $$ off on another batch of beer?

I did send a note to Bell's. They said that I can take the bottles back for an exchange where I purchased them. Hopefully John's will be cool about it, as I didn't keep the receipt.

There are a few batches of Goose Island Matilda out there that are also infected with lactobacillus. Hopefully some made it out here and I can get my hands on some before they get pulled.
