Independence Brew-B-Q, August 28, 2010

Post by Mr T »

Thanks d for summing it up. Im bringing the st larry .. Mt dew wit.. Five gallon. I can bring my single tap box and cobra tapper

We are not doing a demo..but hope for enough room at the table to bring some ingredients or equip for talking points. We can evaluate the event this year and maybe step up our involvement next year.

We should bring our canopy as well if we need to coordinate someone to bring that to the next meeting or brew bq.

Belgian Blonde 4 gallons jjbuck
Calico Cat - California Common Ale 3-4 bombers carrisr
None Weiser - Cream Ale 3-4 bombers carrisr
Short and Stout - American Stout 3-4 bombers carrisr
Jackie's Brown - American Brown Ale 3-4 bombers carrisr (about 2.5 - 3 gallons total for Randy)
Cascadian Dark Ale - Black IPA 5 gallons johnnyik
Watermelon Blonde 5 gallons tompb
Hefeweizen 5 gallons brownbeard
English Pale Ale 3.5 gallons hawkkid68
Double Hop-Bee – Double Pale Ale 5 gallons BrewHound
Pull Some More – American Brown Ale 5 gallons BrewHound
Julie's Cherrywood Smoked Porter - Smoked Robust Porter 5 gallons Derek
Double D's Dubbel - Belgian Dubbel 5 gallons Derek

About 45 gallons committed at this point (not sure what you’re bringing T). John Buck committed the Belgian blonde some time ago, and would need to coordinate with someone to get his beer to the Brew-B-Q – if he still wants to contribute.

Currently, we’ve got 9 kegs listed above and 5 taps dispensing. So we need a few more taps
3 tap tapbox tompb
5# CO2 and 2 taps johnnyik

Are we doing a brewing “demonstration”?

So since they want someone there for the demo at 12, anyone want to go with me and be there to answer questions? I can bring my 4 gal pot and some basic equip(carboy, airlock, siphon tubing). I don't have any absic incredients on hand right now so we may need some LME or DME and maybe a handful of hop cones from one of you home growers.(would look cooler than pellets!!) Also what time are we meeting to set up the booth? I guess I'll already be there for the demo so can come anytime after 1:00. My cell number is 319-899-4253 if you need directions. See ya in Indee!

I'm planning on getting up there around noon, and I'll be around for the homebrew demonstration. Which the posters indicate is from 12:30 to 1:30.

Also, not that I have in any way been approved authorized or otherwise mandated or necessarily allowed to speak for him, Tim indicated he'd be there.

Jeremy, I'm planning on stopping by your place about 11am on Saturday to pick up a couple kegs from you, correct?

I'll be there by noon too. I can bring some raw and crushed grain for the demo. I might set out a couple different kinds for sampling at the booth.

Where exactly are we going? Would you post directions Derek?

Travis, you're bringing the Beer Nuts sign, white board and tripod?

Is someone bringing a canopy?

Anything we're forgetting?

380 North to the Hwy 150/Independence exit
Take 150 North to 1st Street East in Independence (the downtown main street -- Hwy 150 takes a right turn, no need to do that)
Continue forward on 3rd Ave NE (North) 5 more blocks
Take a left on 6th Street NE (West)
Drive 2 or 3 blocks and you're there

I am planning on being there for the presentation. I am going to bring a kettle, mash run, fermentor, and jars of grains. If someone could bring some hops, that would be great.

Seeing as there is more than enough interest in the demo. I'll bow out of that. After talking to the wife, the verdict is still out on my appearance. If you still want to use the cobra tap and CO2, let me know

I won't make it this weekend but I have a tap that goes directly on the corny keg and a Co2 charger if someone wants it. You have to keep the pressure low around 2-3psi so it doesn't foam. Just let me know if you need it.

Same one we used at Beer Camp!
