Me and my cooler can ride with you if there is room. My girlfriend said she'll be coming down afterward to pick me and anyone else that needs a safe ride home.

Yeah there's room. I have to pick up Matt at 10:30, would you be ready around 10:15?

Dave you got room for me as well? I had spoken to Kurt last night, before I saw the post, the wife was going to give me and Kurt a ride out their, however, if there is room, maybe we could both just jump in with you.
The wife is not planning on going this year, so she was just going to drive.
Yeah I have room. We wanted to get down to Amana at 11, does that work for you?

Sure does, where you live Dave, either you could pick me up at my house, or I could get a ride to Kurts, or I could have the wife drop me off at your place?

Kurt lives pretty close to me, maybe 5 minutes away. Do you think you could get a ride to his place and I pick you guys up there? Would be around 10:15.

Just a thought,

Are we bringing any merchandise for the crazy hat contest. Easy advertisement at a cost.(stickers, patches, glassware, etc.)

again, just a thought

What all is coming in a keg? I'll try to make up some tap markers.

Look forward to meeting you at the Fest.

Thanks, but Millstream has asked everyone to limit the amount they bring this year to under 25 gals. We're just under with what's been committed earlier. So, we're OK for beer. No need to rush yours.

I think the limit is BS personally. Last year was my first one and I didn't see any drunk people. How much did you guys bring last year? The Kolsch is ready is ready if needed. I know its good. Also have 15 gal of Oktoberfest and 15 Helles going. Will have 15 Irish Draught and 15 Kolsch for my party Oct 16th. Maybe we can meet up? Are they going to police the amounts at beerfest?

Hi Paul, thanks for the donations, but as mentioned were covered. And agree there is some debate on the quantity limit, the good news is for the club we get invited to lots of these events and if your eager to donate beer for the club, there is plenty of chances to do so. We have another cool event coming up later this month in Cedar Falls at the grout museum that were planning on attending and we will be up against the Cedar Falls brew club for bragging right on best beer. If you still have beer available that could be a great place to serve up your brew.

Also make sure you come and visit us on the 16th of this month at the longbranch at our next club meeting to learn more about that event, and of course get to know the rest of the club.

I probably won’t be at the event tomorrow but I’m sure you will all have a good time even with the limit on kegs/beer.

Thanks to everyone who came out, and especially those that helped set up and pour. Kurt (aka, Billy Mays) had everyone in stiches with his over-the-top sales pitch.

Highlights from the Fest:

Gorgeous Weather. Other than an occassional gust of wind, it was an almost perfect day for the Fest.

We didn't run out of beer!! Despite all the worrying about the 25 gal limit, we had plenty of beer to serve. At times we were pouring 5 or 6 different beers. Again, as usual, we got lots of complements on our beers. A lot of crowd buzz about Kent's coffee porter and Dave's Double IPA.

New setup this year. Teresa added a 3rd tent and mixed up the commercial folks with us homebrewers. We were assigned spots so we didn't need to worry about getting down there real early to stake out a claim. We had a good spot next to Craze (gave Rippe lots of grief!!) and the Hub City guys.

We got to meet Paul. We're hoping that our schedules work out so that he can attend some meetings/other functions in the future and become a full member.

Full sign up sheet of contacts. Several seemed genuinely interested and will hopefully come to the Longbranch meeting.

Overall, another great year in Amana!
