I have beer, that can be used for the event. I am not sure if I am going to make it to this one, and if I can I will be late.
Anyone able to take beer down there for me?

Cedar Falls Grout Beer Festival September 25th
Thanks Tom.
One more note for those showing up… or maybe I should just call Randy… but this is an indoor event in a more classy joint so I talked to one CF brewer and recommended having towels, bowls etc. to avoid having stuff all over the floor. And dress should be reasonable.. nothing too raunchy I guess… So much for the chaps..
I’ll bring some towels and what not, need to probably find a small trash can or something.
Hoping we can run the drain for the taps into the tub of ice, but not sure yet. Its new territory for me.

Travis, the gasket for the regulator is wire tied to the gauge cage.

If anyone is bringing kegs, please bring something to keep them on ice if need be. I'll try and cool them with Tom's tap that holds three, but I don't think he has a cold plate or anything in there so hopefully it cools enough through the plactic beer lines??
I'll have a cooler and hopefully Randy you do to for your bottles, but if you have a tray or something you can set bottles in to keep them iced that would be the way to go.
If I have room, I'm bringing my tap box too that has one tap and a 50 foot coil, so we can keep something mighty cold in that.

Grout Fest Update
Beer Nuts-
Wanted to give a quick recap of the Grout Fest, I’m sure the rest of the guys can pipe in as well.
First off, I want to give a huge thanks to Randy, Brian and Canadian J for serving and donating beer. Also the assistance from Randy and my wife on helping set up and promotion of the club. And thanks Tom for the use of your tap box.
Now with that said, this is certainly a much different event than normal, inside a nice museum, we lacked the convenience of the ground we can pour and spill as we wish. Also with the lack of larger tubs for cooling the kegs, we had to be resourceful with containers to cool kegs. There was even a short scare we were with no Co2, luckily B.A. was just having a mental block and Canadian J turned the gas on… must have been his tie.
Well, we somehow had everything put together, cooled, tapped and Co2 to dispense just shortly after start. This event probably was one of the smallest of the three brewbq, IFOB and grout beer fest. The table started off a little slow and since were the out of towners in direct competition with the home team CRAZE from Cedar Falls, we were not heading up that day with much anticipation we would win being the underdog and under kegged compared to their large lineup and fancy tap behemoth CRAZE had online.
Luckily our table started picking up, and our bantering for votes and cat calling at our brethren CRAZE group heated the competition for the award and just for a moment we started gaining hope that our hobbled together setup and last minute volunteers that had to dig to the back of the closet for beer could pull this off.
Well…….. WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is a toast to the brewers that rocked CF and mark one up for the club as a whole! Now we just need a club house to hang the trophies.

Go Beer Nuts!! Guys, way to represent!
I'd have probably been warmer and dryer helping out with this one than the charity golf event I played in. Played the last four holes in a pouring rain. Plus, 18 under (4 person best shot) and we didn't win sh!t.
Good thing it was for a good cause.

Overall I thought it was a cool event. The size of the crowd was good for the space, as it was busy but not super crowded. I think the people were more appreciative and interested. I had some nice conversations with several people. There was a little higher attendance by women than the other events I've been to. On a slightly funny note was that many people didn't understand that we aren't allowed to sell beer, or some that didn't even realize we were a club and not a brewery! Lot's of "where can I buy this" questions.
And despite the rivalry, I thought it was pretty cool to have another home brew club there. Since I missed IFOB, none of the events I went to this year had another club. They seemed pretty cool and had some nice beers there. Their tap box was off the hook. They must have had 8 or more taps on there, and it was very professional looking.

Oh, and I apparently couldn’t type this morning, I meant to say an extra thanks to Randy’s wife and mine for helping set up and promote… but of course good job Randy and guys as well.
And I think Randy hit on an interesting point. I did spend a lot of time talking in length with folks that genuinely seemed interested in brewing or purchasing our beer. I’ve never heard so many folks confused by the fact our homebrew club could not sell them the beer and other folks that I spent waaaaay too much time talking about the brewing process.
Somewhere some place tonight there is a guy turning his chicken coupe into a brewery!!
