November 18th Club meeting Brian Anderson hosting

Post by bkanderson »

I will be hosting this months club meeting. I live in Robins. There is construction on Main street Robins. The road is closed between C ave and downtown Robins. So my suggestion would be to come up Council street into Robins.

Address
320 Phaeton Dr
Robins, IA

Style: Anything goes (geting close to the holidays and winter so dark beers and strong beers are preferred)

This meeting will be the voters meeting to elect new officals. If you want to run for office, please post your name on this forum topic and what position you would like to run for. To make it official and for anonymity, I will create ballot sheets for anyone who is running unless they are running unopposed, then no vote is even needed.

The ballots will be handed out at the club meeting. All members will fill it out and I will have a box to deposit your ballot in. If you are a member, we should have absentee voting as well. We will count the ballots after the meeting and post the new officials on the cub "members only" section of the website.

Positions available and list of people running. Looks like all unopposed at this time.
President
- Travis - Mr. T
Vice President
- Tony - Tony b

First off, thanks BA for hosting.

I just wanted to clarify that if your running for office, you should of voiced it by now. Not saying it too late, but for all fairness I wanted to give all the candidates and those voting time to formulate a decision before the time of elections for those seats that are apposed.

Please refer to this thread for more info:

Also, don't forget to bring your specialty brews for the comp that will likely be held early December.

I would like to announce my candidacy for the position of president of the Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts. I enjoy being a part of this club and feel that we can go further in many aspects. I feel that as club president I can take this club further with your support.

This is not to take away from our current president Travis Savchenko, he as well as the past presidents of the club (and board member), have all done excellent jobs and advanced the club each year. However, there are areas that I feel I can improve upon for current standing and from previous years. This is a job that requires many additional hours of work for little recognition and no pay. So you probably ask yourself then why do it? I do it because I enjoy Beer, I enjoy the club, and I enjoy the friendships with all of you that I have made through this club, and truly care about the clubs future.

So with that said, I hope that I can count on your support for the position of president of the CR Beer Nuts. If elected I promise to make this an even better year then previous for the club and for each of the brewers who are involved in it.

I am Jeremy Orchuk and I am running for President!

Question

Post by Matt N »

Looking to attend one of the meet to see if the Beer Nuts would be a good fit for myself. However, I see the next meeting looks to be about voting so I don't see it as being a good time for any of us. Any ideas when and where the next meeting after might be? :D

Matt, you should come. The voting will be fairly quick. We usually meet at 7. We have a formal meeting that lasts less than 30 minutes and starts close to 8 usually. The group is pretty informal and the montly meetings are very social. It would be cool if you can make it because the next meeting after this one is our Christmas Party which many members bring their significant other too. Good food, good beer, good friends. November will be a good time to meet the crew.

Voting.

Post by bkanderson »

I was hoping someone would have posted something by now since it is Tuesday. As we all know, elections are Thursday. If you are a paid club member and are unable to make the meeting Thursday, you can do absentee voting. You vote has to be sent to me and Dave Coughlin by 9PM Thursday to be counted. You can PM me (bkanderson) and Dave Coughlin (DaveCo). The only position you really need to vote for is president since the other positions are unopposed.

President
Vote for either Candidate.
