new brewer here

Post by rodneypierce »

Hey guys, my name is Rodney. I live here in Cedar Rapids. I live exactly one block in and one block over from c ave and boysen rd. In the original bowman woods. NE side. Anyhow, i have only currently brewed 2 batches, a Red Ale (which doesnt taste right, but its still young) and a Bavarian Hefewiesen. The Hefe just went into bottles last night.

Anyhow, how do I get access to some of these other forums on here? And I feel bad for already asking, but does anyone have any bottles they would want to get rid of? Glass prefered and 12 ounce. I will pay you for them. I have about 10 extra bottles right now, and I have 2 other beers to brew, with not a place to put them :D

Just go into any Hy-Vee and tell them you'd like to pick up a few empty
bottles. Ask to pick them out yourself. Expect to pay a nickel each for
them. I've have good luck at the Blairs Ferry and Center Point Road
store. Good people must frequent there because they drink a lot of good
beer with cap able bottles. Otherwise if you are looking for Grohlsh
bottles there is a local man that snags them from the Can Shed and sells
them on the internet. I can give you his email and perhaps he can cut
you a deal. - Kevin

Rodney, welcome to the CR Beer Nuts!

I have some bottles if your interested, they are already de-labeled and cleaned. I keg so I don't use them much. I just keep them for others in the club who bottle and in the event I want to enter anything in a comp.

Anyway, if you are interested in a case of them, just give me a call. I will send you a PM with my number.

Rodney Pierce, from Independence, Iowa? Derek Doan, here.

I've got a case or two of Sierra Nevada bottles (the shorter stockier 12 oz bottles). The labels are still attached (a soak in unscented Oxyclean or PBW - Powdered Brewers Wash - and the labels should come right off).

I could round up a case or two for you. I usually start the new year with a brewery clean up and sort through and try to give away some bottles. I will post what I have available in January. No free time until then.

Hey Rodney, I live in the original Bowman Woods too. After the holidays we should get together and brew (or at least drink) some beer!
