I wasn't really ready to order yet. I'll have to see if I can get in on his next order.

I sent Chris an email to see if we can do this after the January meeting. I don't know how often they order though. I would like to give everyone a chance to get what they want.

Spring Grain order

Post by Mr T »

In case that doesn’t fly I’d go for 55# of CBW Golden light DME.

Need some extra sugar for my pancakes in the morn!

I am going to stop and talk to Chris tomorrow. It sounds like the next order will be in about 6 weeks. That should work out better. I would like to let the club have a chance to participate as a whole.

What the hell? That is pretty short notice. Hope we can do this again in 6 weeks. I did not see it until this morning. Here is what I want, whenever we order.

1 - Pilsen
1 - White Wheat Malt
1 - Pale Ale
You can't get with this with a bad hip - Matt

I am looking for someone to split special malts with. Randy was looking too. We've already posted our wishes, but I'm willing to consider others.

I will be bringing order sheets to the next meeting on 1/20. If you cannot make the meeting I will start a new thread just for actual orders. On Friday after the meeting I will turn in our order to Millstream. Chris will include it with his next order. That should be late February-early March. I put off giving him an order today to let everyone have a chance to get in on this.

Take a look at the Briess site http://www.brewingwithbriess.com/Products/Default.htm and try to coordinate your split bags to make this as easy as possible at the meeting. When Jeremy an I did this we split 4 bags. We each ordered 2 so the cost was not a factor.

Once the grain comes in we will have the club write a check for the total and pick up the grain in one shot. Everyone will be expected to pick up the grain and pay the club within 1 week. We can organize the people getting the grain from Millstream in a couple weeks.

It looks like I'm organizing a split specialty malts buy. Please let me know what you want. I don't think any of us needs 25-55# of any one specialty so it's probably best if 3-4 people go in on each. We'll just divide them evenly unless someone wants more of something, let me know how many pounds.

So far here's what we have for sure, number of people in parenthesis:
Carmel 20 (2)
Carmel 40 (2)
Carmel 60 (2)
Caramel Munich 60L (1)
Chocolate (2)
Roasted Barley (2)
Black Malt (1)
Rye Flakes (1)

Tom, I created order sheets last year for the grain buy (or maybe year before). Do you want to use mine instead of having to create a new one. I can email to you if you wish.

After doing an inventory I'd be willing to split

Munich 10L
Munich 20L
CaraMunich 60L

I am going to buy a bag of rice hulls (a lifetime supply) and would be willing to sell off some. It sucks to split a whole bag ( I think a bag would fill a car).

Vienna- 10#
Aromatic- 25#

I'd sell it for .25llb
