Everyone else, go ahead and sign up for slots and we will figure out if we need a van. Also, note if you have a vehicle option you are willing to provide if we go without the rental van.

Another thing to think about is parking. Does anyone's hotel have free parking? It is $16/day at the Amway downtown where I am staying and they said they have oversize parking (I will have a trailer). Has anyone had contact with the organizers about logistics of where to take our trailer to unload stuff for Club Night? I imagine we may have to wait until we get there to figure some of this stuff out. I imagine it would be best if I parked with the trailer at my hotel by the conference center on Friday so we can load and unload. No way I will be able to drive right away after club night and I hope none of the rest of you can either. If I can park elswhere for a couple free nights that would be nice. Lets remember a cart or something to help haul crap around.

The club will cover those parking costs, everything in the trailer is there for the club.

As it stands now, we are looking at Shane probably traveling in a separate vehicle. Likely 4 guys with Matt. That means we are renting a 15 passenger van for 5 people. That is not a financially sound decision for the club. If we do choose to rent a vehicle, it does not need to be that big.

Sorry to weigh in late in this discussion, but I will be driving separately, too. I was trying to confirm some plans first. I'm going to visit a buddy in Chicago over the rest of that weekend and come home on Monday (16th). Going to check out the new Lagunitas brewery.
I'd offer to help ferry folks up to Michigan, but I'm probably going to drive up to Chicago on Tuesday afternoon, crash at my buddy's place and cruise on up to Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning. I'll meet ya'll there, or maybe rendezvous at 3 Floyds for lunch?
Plus, I'll have my car there to get to the Brewery Vivant dinner on Wednesday night, if they aren't running a shuttle, as it looks like I'm the only one going.

It is apparent we do not need a big rental van. If some people are willing to come home with me Sunday, we should only need 2 conventional vehicles. Also, I will leave my third row seats in the car for heading to some brewery tours if anyone wants to squeeze in to the back row. Not a lot of room back there but would fit a couple of squirrely drunks for a ride to a brewery. Basically 7 passengers is the max.

I think that's fair Jim. The club would cover gas and hotel Parking fees, if you're willing to be a shuttle vehicle to Grand Rapids.

Put me down for riding in Matt's green machine for the ride up and back.
Matt, the trailer is wired for a standard connection (4-pins). It just handles lights, no breaks. The trailer can go interstate speeds OK.
