October beer nuts meeting
Jim and Jim,
I wasn't planning on picking people up individually but we could meet at either third base beforehand or at my house 656 - 37th street n.e.. let me know what works best for you guys. 3B seems to be fairly centrally located to our houses.

I'm bringing the same chafing dish arrangement that we used for the BBQ comp at my place. Foil pan is good, we can transfer if yours doesn't fit the chafing dish.
Also, if folks want to bring their wings in crock pots or other electrically heated apparati, we'll have power strips to plug into as well.

October 20th Club Meeting Details
Everyone, I won’t be able to make it to the meeting tonight, so the meeting will be ran by our VP Tony tonight, thanks Tony!
Also a big reminder for any current member who wishes to run and/or vote for 2012 positions, go check out the details here:

Also the next beer comp entries are due, and I’m going to miss that wing competition tonight. Had my wing stuff purchased but unfortunately there was a sudden death of a friend and this week has got pretty messy.
Drive safe everyone

First off, a big THANKS to Randy for hosting and congrats on winning the wing comp!! A fun time was had by all, all the wings were tasty and the fire pit kept the chill off - sorta (thanks to all who brought stuff to burn!
On the business side of things, here's the official slate of candidates for Officers:
President: Tim Sines
Vice President: Tony Browning, Jeremy Orchuck (see post in Members Only)
Secretary: Kent Ball
Treasurer: Jim Potts
Event Coordinator: Randy Carris
We'll be posting the details shortly on how to vote "absentee" if you can't make the November meeting at the LongBranch for the elections.
We also drew the next 2 beer styles for the in-Club competition - 2C (Classic American Pilsner - don't forget to Triple Hop your entries!!) and as luck would have it with all the members out there making ciders, we picked 28D (Specialty Ciders and Perry - Other). So, split off a growler of your cider and do something funky with it!
A last call for folks that have an Octoberfest/Marzen to turn in. Contact either myself or Travis to make arrangements for getting your entry to us for judging.
And NO, we still haven't judged the smoked beers yet. Sorry, but we need folks to step up and volunteer to judge! We'll likely do a combined judging with both beers now. Contact Travis if you want to volunteer to judge.
The next scheduled turn in will be early next year (Jan meeting) for the 26C (Meads - Open). So, the schedule for the new categories should be 2C (Am. Pilsner) in April, and the 28D (Specialty Ciders) next July.
A suggestion was made that we do a "members' choice" selection, as it seems that we continue to randomly draw the more esoteric categories for the competitions that only a few people brew. If members like this idea, we'll discuss it at the November meeting. This would be the style for next October's turn in.
As soon as the PayPal account is established, we'll post in the Members Only forum how to pay your 2012 dues that way, or you can still pay cash or by check at the November meeting.
We'll be posting a survey for members to vote on their choice of dates for the Christmas party. Jim Potts has graciously offered to host, unless someone else would like to do it.
Next Tech Meeting is at Jim Fuller's house and will be Fall Seasonal Beers - Octoberfests, Pumpkin Ales, etc. See the Tech Meeting thread for details.
