[quote="carrisr" One thing that always amuses me is that many people will not pay a penny more for something like a cleanser or sanitizer, then buy crazy expensive kit, or won't bat an eye at using $10 or more worth of hops per batch.

$10 worth of hops?!?! What are you making? Some tasteless, yellow, fizzy beer? Step it up!

I think that must be for a Randy-sized batch.  So if we scale up, $40 worth of hops!

Guys, guys, guys. The hops are supposed to go in the beer, you don't smoke them. If that's how much you're paying for them I'll start selling them to you. Have I got a deal for you!

Dude, been there, done that - it was called Bong Water Ale!

Maybe I should trademark the name!

Dug out a 5 gallon glass carboy I had not used in a while because it had quite a buildup of stuff on the inner walls that could not be scrubbed out with a brush. Threw some Oxiclean in it one night, rinsed it the next and it looks brand new. The stuff works, no scrubbing necessary.
