Right on. I've been trying to convince my father in law to get a gas smoker. He claims to not have the patience to learn charcoal, just wants as easy as possible.

For a cheap accessory, get a metal box for wood chips (assume that pellets would work in it too). Bobby Flay has a good one found at Kohl's (I have it and it's held up pretty good). Steve Rachlen has one (along with a million other accessories) found at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Turns out, the Flay model is on sale for $15.
