Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts Home Brew Festival
Re: Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts Home Brew Festival
Glassware is an issue. I do not want to use pint glasses. I want us to have sample glasses, so we are pouring 1-2 oz. pours.
Rapids, has 5 1/2 oz. brandy snifters at about 32$/doz. . I am getting some for myself but maybe too pricey for the event.

John, we discussed glassware at the meeting and we're planning to get the regular 2 oz tasting glasses with our logo on them. Not going with standard Benz shakers (pints).

Ya miss one meeting in 4 years and you're behind the curve. I actually would prefer to have the 2 oz instead of the 5.5. Can extras be ordered for club members?tony b wrote:John, we discussed glassware at the meeting and we're planning to get the regular 2 oz tasting glasses with our logo on them. Band for the Club Event
I asked a friend about availability/cost for his band. They play under a few different names but would typically be known as "The All Americans" The group is three musicians (2 guitars, one keys) with all three doing vocals. The do a variety of covers and have played most of the downtown C.R. venues including White Star, Bricks, etc. Cost would be $400 including bringing and setting up their own P.A. rig.
Let me know if you's like more info, references, etc.

Just throwing these out there.

Pricing is included on the left side of each page. These were just the first ones that I found.
Places for logo/text on front and back of the glass.

I should be able to contribute a batch. I'm hoping to refine by Baltic porter by then, but if not it will probably be a Brittish IPA. Also, since I haven't switched over to kegging, if someone would be willing to lend me a keg for the event I'd prefer to do it that way. Otherwise, I can just bring bottles.
Looking at the pictures of the May Benz fest, a couple of items jumped out at me that we should strongly consider for improvements for our fest in October.
We need a new banner - one that reaches the width of the tent, so we don't have to attached it with cheesy looking clamps.
We really should have our logo on the front of the bar. I know that we've discussed a metal "bottle cap"in the past; but, we need to make it happen, if we're going to do it, even if it means throwing some funds at it and not relying upon a "friend of a friend" to do it.
Did we ever get a "high resolution" graphic of our logo w/o white background? We'll need that for just about everything - glasses, banner, posters/flyers.
Just some things for the organizing committee to consider.

Tony I am pretty sure I have one on my computer at home for making T-shirts in a psd file. I will check when I get home and send to you.tony b wrote:Did we ever get a "high resolution" graphic of our logo w/o white background? Committee Meeting
I am more than willing to host the first committee meeting next week (7/23-). I can host any night with the exception of Thursday.
Let's get this rolling ball of butcher knives rolling.

Bound to Be is a band I've asked to see if they can play. They'd be a good fit as the signer is a homebrewer too. Oh, and they can rock like mad. I'm waiting to see if they're free on that day.

Randy I am available either night. I could host. Sunday would be better because I have more kegs than I have cooler space after RAGBRAI.
