Their party has been on Wednesday nights I think. At least it was when we went to SD.

Yeah, they dropped the "golden pissoire" award after the boys in Ames brought 500 gallons!!! to the Minnesota NHC.
Assuming that Brewing Network will have their usual pre-party on Tuesday night, we should plan to be there for that too. It's not to be missed!!

In the spirt of the current theme for club night, a homage to copyright infringement, I could make my FYF IPA. It uses the North Face Label but with different words taken from a Phish song of the same title. I brought it to the Czech Village competition last summer and it was well received by hop heads. I have a censored label if we want to protect the innocent (which there should be no of at the conference).

The AHA registration details site has been updated with information on the new system. There appears to be a week long lottery.

Since the AHA is doing a lottery system for tickets to NHC this year, does it make sense to team up our registrations? Each registrant may enter one guest (both need to be AHA members).

Pairing up makes sense. If both of you get in, then you just pick up anyone who doesn't win the lottery.

When registering a guest, you do have to specify who they are and their AHA number. The Guest cannot then register separately and then say register you as a guest. It is a double entry and you may be kicked out of the lottery offering. So basically, only register yourself once with a guest or as a guest with someone else. Clear as mud right.
Basically, make sure you only register once.

AHA site seems to be defunct today. I was going to renew my membership, but the site is not working.

Several look really good. Definitely down with the Sake making session. Always wanted to try that!
Looks like they are updating the BJCP style guide this year, too.

I was able to get four entries into the Minneapolis/St. Paul regional. Did anyone else enter this year? I will be taking my entries to Northern Brewer in March if any of you want to send your entries with me.

One final reminder: The last day to register for the NHC ticket lottery is tomorrow at 10pm MST. That's 11pm our time. If you want to go you NEED to get registered.
For the many newer members of the club, if you have any questions about what it's like to go to this conference, now is the time to ask. Many members here have gone to at least one NHC, and some have been to several. It's not likely that it will be held this close to us for several years. Plus, this is in Grand Rapids, MI with nearby breweries such as Founders, Bell's, New Holland, Dark Horse, as well as tons of smaller ones. We are also thinking of hitting 3 Floyds one either the way out or back. This is also the first time we've every done Club Night, and it promises to be a great time!

If anyone wishes they had registered (but they didn't), there will be more registrations starting Mar 12.
