Tap Water or Sterile Water

If I was on CR water I would probably just remove the chloramine and add either gypsum or cal chloride depending on the beer. My water is very hard, so I start from scratch. Could I make good beers from it? Probably, but its one more ingredient I can control and it's not hard or time consuming.
