Did some digging and found this crowler machine that does both 12 & 16 oz cans and is half the price of the 32 oz Ball machine. And, you can by cans & lids in smaller quantities (not a whole pallet).

Not a good picture of the pump I built but it sits in the bucket. Bucket is in the keg tub to capture some splashing. Not needed when doing carboys or kegs. I am using it here to clean 4 beer lines all at once. The lines screw on to the mfl connections I use to add keg QD's for cleaning kegs. It really is slick.
I use MFL females on the keg washer to drive cleaner into the two QD to clean the gas input and beverage output tubes.
If I plugged one MFL female (and capped the keg washers main vertical tube), I could use the other MFL to drive flow into a beer line to backfeed tap 1, and then chain the remaining tabs together (just like in your picture, connect the output of tap 1 to the output of tap 2, connect the input to tap 2 to the input of tap 3...so one and so forth). The output of the last tap would flow back into the cleanser bucket if the setup has an odd number of taps; or the MFL input of the last tap would flow back to the cleanser bucket, if the setup has an even number of taps.
One setup could be used to clean kegs, carboys, and tap lines.
If the members want to build their own, the club can facilitate a Tech Meeting to build them. The materials, except the pump, are inexpensive; I do not think we would get a bulk purchase discount unless we built dozens of them.
If it works, this would be a nice system for the club to own and lend out....and/or have one or two available to do a decent cleaning and sanitizing of the beer lines prior to storage (between Beer Festivals). I am not sure how well these garden pumps would hold up under the caustic beer line cleaners...but mine has done just fine with PBW and Starsan and very hot water.
One setup would store in one 5-gallon bucket with a lid.
In the Fridge/On Tap: English Bitter, Schwarzbier, Cream Ale
In the keg: Wheat Beer, Russian Imperial Stout
In the bucket:
In the queue: Irish Red, American IPA
The canning machine Tony linked to is the one Benda bought if I'm not mistaken. That and a good corker would be awesome. Group buys on bottles and cans would also be cool if we got enough participants to get discounts.

Even though some of the parts are cheap (PVC pipe), it just didn't make sense for each of us to buy a 6ft stick, but only use 2 feet of it; similar with the silicone sealant/glue - buy a whole tube just to use 10% of it. So if we pooled this into a Tech Mtg, we could cut down on waste and cost. If Daryl or Matt could send me a parts list, I could do some shopping around to see if there were some items that would benefit from a "bulk purchase." Also, what tools are needed to do this? If enough folks in the Club want to do this, I'll help organize it, but certainly couldn't lead it, as I've never built one before (the blind leading the blind, as they say!)

If we want to pursue this as a tech meeting, I suggest we move that discussion to the Tech Meetings page; I'll start a thread there this AM and gauge the Club's interest.
