At Home Reverse Osmosis Water Supply

I have one that I bought for relatively cheap on Amazon, but that was pre-plague. I rigged up a tank w/ a bottling bucket and a cheap plastic float valve. It works fine. You don't need a pressure vessel. Also found some cheap push-fit elbows and a small piece of clear-ish tubing to make a site-glass. I also put some valves on input/output that I got from Menards. Chris Zubak has a system too but I forget what it was. I would like a system that fills my kettle with up to 20 gallons and then shuts off. I know there are a few out there but all are kind of pricey. I keep delaying the purchase because I just go to fill jugs at Hy-Vee at $0.39/gallon. The hold up for me is maintenance of the RO system and how often do you replace filters? I really just want a home system for the convenience.

I have been brewing with CR tap water a few times with decent results. No filter, just using campden tablets and a quick boil before I use. I would prefer to use RO though.

I have an RO system. I only use it to brew pilsners. I use water calculations in Brewers Friend to build water from CR water.
My filters are replaced 1x a year. A 10 gallon RO tank only holds 5 gallons of RO water. The other half is for the bladder that pressurizes the system.

I probably going to to use CR water for a bit and get RO water from the store when I feel like it. Anybody have recent CR water report? I use EZ Water to make adjustments since it is a tab in the excel file I have started to use. I really like it and the price is right.

I am still using the numbers sent out by the water department years ago. We had a couple of years worth, the only thing that changed was the nitrate levels, and that was seasonal.
If you can find that thread in the forum, they are still there.
