I party enough and sleep little so I’m there for the lectures and the party knowing I’ll have time for both…with the lectures perhaps being slightly more importance as I can party here in town or anytime in MN but can’t find the lectures here. The list of speakers is great. I thought about it but for my first conference I don't want to over commit. I figure if the seminar is not sold out I could upgrade or just watch the ones I want on You Tube the following week.

I just signed up John and me as a "Family membership" in AHA ($43). Will save us serious coin on the registration fees. So, for those of you bringing significant others or kids and aren't members already, look into the family option.

I'm leaning towards Full Conference/no Banquet for me and the Social Package/no Banquet for John.

But, most importantly, the Club has to decide PDQ if we're going to participate in the Hospitality Suite (we said we didn't want to participate in Club Night)? Not only signing up, but planning who's brewing, how many beers to take, what kinds, etc. June isn't that far off if we're thinking about brewing some big beers for it.

You know as an AHA member you can bring one NON AHA member for the AHA member price. But at least now you both might get the Zymurgy mag so you each have your own copy or one for each bathroom.

Tony is really stepping up this year, your getting BYO and zymurgy.. I hope you like reading, I barely keep up.

We signed up for a 2 year family membership. You only get 1 copy of Zymurgy though. We did the full conference/no banquet and are staying at the Sofitel Minneapolis Hotel across the street. They are honoring the NHC room rate.

We do need to consider wether or not to do a stint in the hospitality suite. I can go either way. If we do it should be early for easy setup/teardown in case I get drunk.

I am getting my tickets this week after I get clearance for time off from work. I would be interested in club night. Didn't know it had been squashed already. IBU from Des Moines and the group from Ames are already doing club night. Sounds like fun.

I wouldn't say totally squashed, but Larry had said that we weren't ready as a club to pull it off. It's a big deal with lots of bling involved. We don't have a good looking setup yet; the banner's a plus, but we need a good tap box, etc. The Hospitality Suite gig is a bit more laid back - more about the beer, less show. But, if we could hook up somehow with IBU, we might be able to pull it off with a decent showing. Just don't want the Club to come off looking bad.

If folks are starting to sign up, we'll jump into the game forthwith.

Larry, what does that retired dude have to do with this? He bailed on us! As far as club night goes that is just a matter of making the decision to do it. I almost think we should go ahead and sign up for it. That may push us to put the "bling" together as Tony puts it. With all the talent That this club has we could have a really nice set up put together in 6 weeks let alone the 4 1/2 months to the conference. I think we should go for it.

I can go either way. I do not have the time to commit to building or planning anything. It may a good year to take it all in so we know what we are getting oursleves in to. From what I have seen it is very involved and would be fun. If someone feels strongly and can put in the time and effort to get the club ready that is great. Someone would have to step up and commit soon.

So far, to get anything done in our club it takes a person to basically take on the task. A year and a half ago I planned and executed a trip for the club to Madison. 18 people went and it was a great time but it took one person to be the lead and get the job done. A team approach would be best but I haven't seen that completed yet. Like I said, I would love to help, but can't at this time.

What would our commitment be if we sign up? It doesn't say if you serve for an hour or 4. I don't really want to be stuck at a booth serving during the whole time.

The nice thing about the Sofitel, is that it's on the same corner as the Sheraton.  They say "across the street" but the street is just a frontage road.  For the other hotels, you'd need to drive (or find a shuttle).  You can't cross Normandale or 494 on foot.

I just registered for the conference so I am in.

Anybody have a Nitro setup we could use? If we did a stretch in the Hospitality Suite, I am thinking an imperial Black and Tan (RIS and DIPA) would leave an impression.

I don't have nitro, but I am trying to put a stout tap on my box. It would be just a single pass through the cold plate. Anyone have a cheap stout faucet?
I got the basic wooden box built yesterday. Now I have to get the stainless cut and bent. Then build the tap head to go on top. I want to get it done by the 20th for Amana.

Karl's got one.  He could probably have his arm twisted into lending it out for a good cause.
