Yes, Friday is still open. If enough people want to, Friday can be done. It will be an additional $8 reservation fee (a nightly charge) and there must be at least three paying untis (3 x $13 = $39). Also, the canoe trips that would be Saturday would end about 3:00 which would work well. Come Saturday morning, canoe, then go set up camp. A canoe for a four hour trip is $25 and can be split two ways or 3. Several club members have a canoe too, but the ride to the put-in is well worth it. You don't have to drive to pick up your starting vehicle after half a day on the water drinking.

I forgot to put my name on the sign-up sheet, so put me down for at least Saturday. I'd also be interested in sharing a canoe.

Matt,
It sounds like we are doing Saturday night only, which is OK with me. You can put me down for 1/2 a canoe too.
Thanks,
Jim

CANOEING ANNOUNCEMENT!
Here is the list I have for people interested in canoeing. At the moment we have enough to get three canoes (2 people min/canoe and 3 people max) with our seven people.
Between Kurt and I, we can come up with three canoes on our own. The only issue is going to pick up the cars from where we would start should we choose to use our own canoes. I can remain sober enough to do this and can carry two canoes on my car. Plus it is only a couple miles on gravel roads. The plus is they are free. I will call this afternoon to see if we can save bucks by bringing our own boats and let them shuttle us.
Let me know what you think. Also, if you want to canoe and are not on the list, let me know. I have to have a final count by Friday so I can reserve the canoes. I also must put up a 60% non-refundable deposit for all the boats on Friday too. CJ also mentioned tubing which would work with the private canoes if you can bring a tube.
4 – hour canoe trip; $25 per canoe
-Matt F
-Randy
-Jim F
-Travis – Prez
-Kurt
-Michelle (you signed up for a 2-hour, do you want to do the 4?)
-Jeremy
Again, if you are not on this list and want to be, let me know. If you want off the list, let me know by this Friday.

Matt,
If needed, I can stay sober enough to drive back to the start and could haul a canoe too. Whatever works out best...

I will know by the end of the day if I am coming, or if Momma and I are both going to be there.

Matt, I have a canoe, but no way to get it up there. I can probably come up and help drive if you need it. I will probably be in CC anyway helping on dad's farm. Seems I'm up there most weekends anyway. If you need a hand with anything let me know.

We may take you up on that offer. I don't have your cell # anymore. Could you PM it to me? It would be nice if you could drive my vehicle from the put-in and park it by the take out in the park.

UPDATE!
A church group with a bunch of kids rented all available canoes for the day. Good news is we can shuttle ourselves, use our own canoes and start later in the day around 12-1 and stay behind them. I can stay sober enough to go get my car if need be. We have 4 canoes locally, Adam can bring one if he comes, and I could get two more from a friend if need be. So we can get the boats, but we will need to haul them. I can fit two on top of my car and up to 8 passengers if someone can squeeze in to the middle of the third row for a short 10 mile ride. 7 is no problem. We currently have commitments from 6 people which means we just need one more vehicle to haul one canoe. I have foam blocks that can be used to put a canoe on top of a roof if nobody has a rack for one canoe.
If we get more than the current 6 people, we will find a way to haul the other canoes. I may even be able to get a trailer which I could add a rack to for hauling more canoes which would mean we would only need one vehicle to drive to our starting point. If someone else has a vehicle with a rack for hauling two canoes that would be helpful. We will leave enough cars at our take out to get people back to camp.
4 – hour canoe trip; $0 per canoe
-Matt F
-Randy
-Jim F
-Kurt
-Michelle
-Jeremy
Possible additions to the canoe group-Tim and maybe Momma
-Adam from the Des Moines and Pella club (he can bring a canoe)
-my cousins Damon and JJ

Matt,
I have a roof rack on my SUV, so I can haul one. I can hold 5 people (including me).

I also have a roof rack, so that can be a backup if we need it. Probably only room for 1 canoe and 5 people though.

Cool, sounds like we have enough to haul up to four canoes which is more than we need now.
