UPDATE: I got them to print correctly. Had to import the PDFs into Photoshop and print them from there - PFM!!tony b wrote:I printed off all of our beer posters and put them in plastic sleeves. However, I can't get these 3 to print out right. My printer just doesn't like these solid black backgrounds and turns them blue-gray (brand new black ink cartridge, too!) Would someone else try to see if they can get them to come out right? They look fine on the monitor and it didn't seem to matter if I printed them as WORD docx or as Adobe PDFs, they came out basically the same.

Re: National Homebrewers Conference Check In
Summary of last nights meeting:
-Randy is going to bring the trailer to Dan's house [1175 Brockman Ave, Marion] on Tuesday the 10th around 8PM.
Bar is going to be loaded; if you have other stuff [kegs, luggage, etc.] that needs to go into the club trailer please bring it or make arrangements with someone to have it present.
Trailer will be going with Matt the evening of the 10th.
- Everyone in Matt's car is to meet at Matt's house at 8AM on 6-11.
-Jim is planning on picking people up? (plan to be ready just before 8AM)
When on the road Matt's car will notify Shane; We will meet at 3-floyds for lunch and a refreshing beverage.
Action Items:
Shane is going to bring his CO2 tank as a backup
Tim is going to pick up a CO2 tank for club use
Tim is going to rig up some PVC to hang our banner from. This will need to include some type of supports. FYI the bar top is only 7' 6".
Dan will get the bar as far as it can go, and will pack a toolkit.
Are we just using binder clips to attach the posters to the banner?

and another..
I will swap out one of the lines with a ball lock MFL, so that transfer is easy... I may pick up 1 set of pin lock MFL's for the club, too. I remember a couple times that we ran into this issue in the past.

Re: National Homebrewers Conference Check In
Is anyone bringing something to flush out the beer lines? I have a small, 1 gallon, hand pump line cleaner with a ball lock connector that I can bring if we don't have a keg of starsan already lined up.

I may be late to Dan's Tuesday but I will be there. I have to take a kid to violin lessons from 7:30 to 8 in Marion. I need to run her home before I come over.

Yes, the beer posters will hang from the bottom of the banner over the bar with binder clips. I will go to Staples and get them. Are there any other supplies that we need from Staples - 2-sided tape, clear packing tape, poster boards, tie-wraps (6", 12" and 24"), markers, etc?whitedj wrote:Summary of last nights meeting:

Which brings up the last point - who's making the poster sized versions of Jim's Brother's beer labels? And, what size, so we can match up to the poster boards?

Re: National Homebrewers Conference Check In
My Club Night Keg Tags arrived today. Here is a copy of it with my info blanked out if folks want to try and duplicate it.
The actual dimensions of the tag are: w = 1 7/8"; l = 16". You might duplicate the paper stock with a glossy photo paper. It's a "peel & stick" backing the entire length, so it's like the baggage tags that the airlines use. Your best bet (IMO) is to separate the tag in the middle (the Word file is really 2 pictures butted together), so it will fit on a regular sized piece of paper, print it, then reconstruct the tag with clear wide packing tape.

I will print 3 additional blank tags, since I can fit them on the minimum required 2 pages to print.

Re: National Homebrewers Conference Check In
Matt,
What you think about meeting at the subway in Le Claire, 1/2 mile east of junction of I-80 and US 67?
Just give me a jingle or text from someone when you leave and I'll leave and be there waiting. Probably 50 minutes for me to reach Le Claire. McDonald's might be easier to spot from I-80, but it's further down the service/entrance road back-tracking towards the interstate.
Also, I'm open if anybody wishes to ride shotgun. Dual-air, motorized seat, moonroof. Built-in Navigation.

Re: National Homebrewers Conference Check In
I have access to a color laser printer and can print off some tags. Made one for 11" x 17" paper but that was too big for the color printer. I will do the two piece thing like Tony recommends.
Tony, how are the tags attached to the kegs? Are they supposed to be stuck on or are they attached to the handle of the keg like a luggage tag? We could use zip ties.
