We still plan on going.. our Colorado trip was a bust. Nothing like plane tickets jumping up over $200 in a matter of hours.. -_-

Do you have room for one more? The wife is working all weekend and the kids are at their mom's.

That's fifteen....so if we do rent a 15-passenger van, we are at our limit. However, things change (a seat might open out, or we might be able to pull off different travel arrangements.

So if you would like to grab the next empty spot. Private Message me and I will start a waiting list.

The high level itinerary for this trip will be:

Depart on Saturday morning
Arrive in the Madison Area before Noon
Spend the night in the Madison Area
Return home on Sunday

At this time, the details of our stops are as an earlier post by Matt.

Anyone wishing to go, go ahead and PM me....if we get enough folks, we will work to secure another vehicle.

NOTE: The club is picking up the transportation expense for the van, attendees will pay for their hotel accommodations, meals, souvenirs, public indecency fines, emergency room fees, and, of course, BEER.

An itinerary and maps are attached. Nothing set in stone as this is a beer trip. Lots of fun at one place may mean less time at another or skipping all together. The itinerary is more of a guide to an efficient way to hit some of the best beer places in Madison. There are two maps. One shows the larger Madison area and the other is a more detailed map of the downtown area called the "Downtown Stumbler" which is the area in a blueish box on the larger map. We finish the night downtown so this gives you an idea of some places to check out. Many are short walking distances from each other.

Do you have any plans yet for hotels or do we need to make our own arrangements?

Presuming couples stay in their own rooms, and guys bunk with 1 or 2 other guys we would need

4 Rooms for the couples
3 Rooms for the guys; 2, 2, 3

Or do some of the guys want a private room?

We can probably get a deal booking 7 or 8 rooms.

Thoughts?

If the weather is nice I might rock the bum method. Newspapers and a Park bench.

Vagrancy fines will not be reimbursable; and probably cheaper than a hotel and you would get breakfast and a bed too. But you won't be able to choose your bunk-mate; and everything that be might inferred by 'bunk-mate"!!!!

But that could result in a new beer name though!

What hotels are we looking at going to?

I am contacting Best Western East Towne....online rate is $85/night. The sales manager is going to call back with a rate for us; 4801 Annamark Dr, Madison, WI 53704; they are located NE of town near I-90.

Includes breakfast, parking, WiFi, etc..

I am requesting 7 rooms for 15 people; one room will house 3.

I will edit this post when I have more information.

UPDATE
They can accommodate us at $90/night. They have good UBER coverage; one of their clients stays with them and uses UBER all of the time, and there is always cabs available.

We can get 7 rooms....all are a Queen with one pull out couch...that's what they have....most rooms have a sliding door to a patio/balcony. They are not large rooms, but it's not like we are living there.

The salesman shared with me that the food at Ale Asylum is awesome; Karben4 - not so much; but the beers are good at both places. These are two of the closet breweries to the Best Western.

The $85 rate is pay ahead, non refundable, and there is one room available at that rate.

Thoughts?

Shall we book a block?

Not super thrilled about one Queen for those of us sharing rooms, but can live with it. 3 in one room will be tight. Do they have an 8th room? If so I'd be willing pay for my own room to make things less cramped.
