Steven P wrote:Hello All,

I received the invoice today from Backpocket and have both good news and not as good news.

The good news is that we can pickup as early as 9 AM on Saturday.

The not as good news is that the pricing initially quoted is not the pricing I'm seeing on the invoice. As things turn out the pricing is still good, but not a single bag was as low as $25 per bag. Thomas Fawcett Maris Otter for example was considerably more than that ($45 or so).

I'll figure out the additional amounts owed for each order and will PM each person these as soon as I can work through the numbers. We can settle up on Thursday at the club meeting or on Saturday AM at pickup.

I'm personally covering the overage so I appreciate all of your assistance with being prompt with the true up.

Please feel free to PM or call me with questions. 319-202-1631

Thank you,

Steven P.

Maybe Joe wouldn't have been so out of line on prices. Just a thought for next time.

Seems odd that the people at Back Pocket didn't know the cost of the grain until after our order was placed and delivered.

The prices we got, even after shipping, are far better than I think you would ever see at retail.

I may need that assistance Travis.

I have a last minute business trip leaving on Thursday and coming back Saturday evening and I have 8 bags. If they allow an early pickup I can do before Thursday, otherwise need to coordinate with someone.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for setting this up. Let me know how much extra I owe you because I don't want you left holding the bag. On May 13, 2013 10:18 PM, "Steven P" <brew-members@crbeernuts.org (brew-members@crbeernuts.org)> wrote:

$45 for a bag of Fawcett Marris Otter you can pick up in Coralville is a solid price. I figured it would be more than $25 for those. As a point of reference, Fifty Pound Sack sells Fawcett Marris Otter for $76 shipped to your door. We are still getting a significant discount.

I agree with Matt. I also appreciate having more choices than we got with Millstream where we were limited to a single brand. On May 14, 2013 9:09 AM, "Matt F" <brew-members@crbeernuts.org (brew-members@crbeernuts.org)> wrote:

I will be in need of assistance for grain pick up as well. I will be in Des Moines Thursday - Saturday.

Stephen, I am willing to get you the money on Wednesday. Tonight I am tied up with the "Enter The Haggis" concert.

Hello All,

I ran the numbers and have attached a spreadsheet showing the actual grain pricing including the shipping cost of $2.65 per bag.

The first tab named "Short Counts" shows the maltster, bag count, price including shipping and the amount I am short per bag to cover the order.

Each consecutive tab shows your forum user name, your order bag count, subtotals, and total amount due in the highlighted cell.

I'll be accepting additional funds at Thursday's meeting, Saturday at pickup, or we can work out an alternate time.

I'm checking to see if I can invoice via paypal as well if that makes it easier for some of you.

Please send me a PM or call me at 319-202-1631 if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Paypal is working OK. You can send funds to:

sprochaska@transamerica.com

Please reference your forum user ID and name if you want to use this method.

I also can invoice you, but there is a 3% paypal fee for doing it this way.

Also note that if you are sending money via PayPal to Steven, make sure to mark it as a "gift" or he'll have to pay the fee too.

I guess they've changed the send money part now. Now they say "send money to family or friends".

This is confirmed. If I invoice then there is a fee or if you say you are paying for something purchased you have a fee. Just "send money to family or friends" is the best option.
