Yeah, I am curious too. I have been pretty happy with DampRid and a ShopVac though, so that would have to work a lot better...

Been running for a day and minimal water in the tank, but before that the keeper was pretty dry. Still not soaking it all up. I'll give it more time

Re: Keezer vs Kegerator
I have had both and prefer my keezer. I can have more styles of beer on tap and it gives you room to grow if you want. I also built my own temp controller for about $30.wyzzyrdd wrote:Before I build something, what are the pros and cons of keezers versus kegerators? Any lessons learned would be awesome.

Re: Keezer vs Kegerator
Does that EvaDry work by allowing the pellets to absorb water vapor from the air and periodically applying heat to squeeze the trapped water into the collection tank? I've manually been using that sort of process by manually removing the EvaDry, applying heat to squeeze out the water, and then returning the dried EvaDry to the keezer. My process is only marginally effective. I'm wondering if the EvaDry pellets are not really effective at beer temperatures. Perhaps DampRid is more effective at those temperatures?

I've done the DampRid tubs in my lagering fridge. They work well. Only downside is that they need to be changed frequently, so the $$ add up quickly. Should look to see if there's a case discount on them?

If you go the inkbird route a new already built temp controller is about $30. My dual temp for fermenting was under $40.

Re: Keezer vs Kegerator
Update. Right at 2 weeks and it's collected 350ml of water. I also turned my fan completely off. Keezer floor is bone dry. I'm very happy and think the size smaller one would be plenty and $25 cheaper I think.

Update 1 year later and the EvaDry 2200 has died I have not dug into it to see if it's salvageable or not. I have contacted who I bought it through and having a small chat with The Electric Brewery on FB as well. He seems way smarter than I and he runs the rechargeable ones (2 at a time) with good success
