I would really like to participate in this year's wort rally, but I have a challenge in making that happen. I will not be able to pick-up my wort until Sunday. And would process it either on Sunday or Monday.

I am a little concerned about having the wort sit around for 2-days, before I can get to it.

What are the risks? How can I mitigate them (refrigerate the wort)?

Or is the risk minimal as long as the buckets stay sealed?

Thoughts?

I think the plan is that Lion Bridge will briefly boil the wort, to sanitize, so as long as your bucket/ whatever vessel is clean and sanitized, and you keep it refrigerated, you should be fine for a couple of days. It's really no different than keeping an opened bottle of apple juice in your fridge.

Also, I have space to keep 1 extra bucket (sorry, not 2) of wort refrigerated, if you want us to pick up your wort.

And you will boil it all which should have you covered.

My question with the wort is planning on using it like water and steeping some grain in it but wouldn't I need to dilute it a little with water. Like 1 gallon of water to 2 gallons of wort

Depends what you want your staring gravity at. You can steep specialty grains in the wort as Is, in a separate batch of water and add, really wide open.

I am not going to make it to Lion Bridge today. How do I pay for my wort?

I thought I was going to be able to participate but I'm not going to be able to. Can someone take me out of the count?

We quickly need to firm up details for the Wort rally....specifically who is participating....there will be more on the vessel drop off and pick up details in the next day or two (sufficient to say drop and pickup will be during LB business hours).

So if you've been on the fence, today is the day to decide if you are in.

If you have stated your intentions to participate on this thread (or verbally to one of the Board members), your 10 gallons it will be brewed and Lion Bridge will expect payment.

Please check our list...check it twice...if you are on it, 10 gallons or wort will be prepared for you.

Here is the most current list:
Anderson, Brian
Barhis, Mike
Benda, Eric
Corrin, Cal
Coughlin, Dave
Franklin, Brandon
Franklin, Matt
Freese, Shane
Hoech, Karl

Still no answer on expected gravity or srm? Hard to plan ahead... The store is only open for 2 days (Wed, Thurs) between now, and wort pickup.

OK, We'll Do It Live. saison blends, open fermented, maybe some brett. Some hops from New Zealand. re-used oak. Might dump in some wine lees.

Daryl, I can't do it. Andrew Gray. I'd posted the other day but saw I'm still on the list.
